RFRSH Entertainment, the company behind the Blast Pro Series and Team Astralis, has raised fresh funds for continued development. The funding round included Creandum, Sunstone, and the Danish Growth Fund.
Creating the esports brand for the mainstream audience
Following a successful funding round in June last year, the Denmark-based company has now secured new monies for ongoing expansion.
“We are creating the most interesting live tournament in esports, and our ultimate ambition is to establish BLAST Pro Series as part of the mainstream scene of world-class competitive entertainment on level with NBA, UFC, football, movies and online entertainment in general,” said RFRSH Entertainment CEO and founder Nikolaj Nyholm.
By developing its current and creating new live, digital, and content formats around the events, RFRSH wants to strengthen its position in the industry.
“On a global scale, esports is a massive market growing in unparalleled speed,” commented Creandum partner Simon Schmincke. “We are proud to keep backing RFRSH Entertainment on the company’s path to success.”

Conquering the global esports entertainment industry
Founded only two years ago, RFRSH has been actively contributing to the industry ever since. The organization has not only given wings to a popular tournament series and a competitive team but also forged important strategic partnerships along the way.
Its collaborations with companies like Turtle Beach, Epics Digital Cards, and Turkish Airlines for Blast Pro Series have grown the event. Additionally, partnerships with Audi and Jack & Jones have supported Team Astralis in exposure and popularity growth.
For 2019, the company already announced tournaments across the globe. Some locations include Sao Paulo, Miami, and Madrid with more to come.
