Amazon Prime Gaming And Riot Enter Into Fresh Agreement

Amazon Prime Gaming, the company’s gaming service which is part of their overall Amazon Prime offering, have entered into a fresh agreement with Riot Games, which will mean that Amazon Prime users will get exclusive in-game content across the full range of Riot titles.

The two companies have already been in a working agreement since 2018, but this new partnership agreement will expand their collaboration much further, with a whole host of skins, loot and other in-game bonuses available to customers to use on Riot titles such as League of Legends, VALORANT, Wild Rift and Legends of Runeterra.

First Capsule Released October 27th

The deal started on the 27th October and saw a special Prime Gaming Capsule announced for League of Legends.

The capsule included the following items:

Amazon Prime members need to log in to their account and then head to Prime Gaming in order to claim their free capsule.

Amazon is hoping to release at least seven different esports themed capsules per month, covering a wide range of Riot Games titles.

Additionally, League of Legends esports fans will also be able to collect their own custom esports emote during some of the big tournaments stated for LoL in 2022.

No Surprise The Agreement Started With LoL

Given that the League of Legends World Championships are now very much underway and starting to get down to the nitty gritty with just four teams remaining in the tournament, it is unsurprising that the deal announced as the first in this partnership focused on LoL Esports players and followers.

While the recently completed Dota 2 The International tournament may be the richest esports event in the world, the LoL Worlds are the most popular with viewers and punters too, with plenty of cash being spent on LoL Worlds betting as people tune in to watch the matches unfold from Iceland.

This announcement for Amazon Prime customers will only enhance their gaming and viewing experience, especially considering that these capsules will be provided as part of the customer’s subscription to the Amazon service.

One thing to remember though is that each capsule, while free to members, is only available for a limited time and with seven capsules per month, it may only be the case that the capsule is available for a few days before it expires.

League Of Legends: Wild Rift Content Coming Soon

Alongside the capsules, Amazon Prime customers will also be able to unlock content for the mobile game League of Legends: Wild Rift. The first of this content will be released on November 18th and new content will be released for the title for members every two weeks for a year.

This is a major announcement for Amazon Prime Gaming and it is one that GM Larry Plotnick is excited about:

“We’ve been working with Riot for a while now, but this collaboration raises the value bar for customers to ensure Riot’s games are even better with Amazon Prime,” explained Mr Plotnick.

“We’re looking forward to featuring additional content for Prime Gaming members in the coming months.”

Prime Gaming customers have seen the number of rewards available to them increase from just one item per month when the service started five years ago, to over 580 items a month for members currently.
