Providers of 24/7 betting services to both retail and online operators, Sports Information Services (SIS) this week announced Anze Gantar as its new Digital Sales Manager.

The appointment is seen as a key one for SIS given the wealth of experience Gantar has in a number of gaming industry roles in the Balkans and Malta regions.

Speaking after the confirmation of his appointment, Gantar stated:

“I’m delighted to have joined SIS and I am thoroughly looking forward to the next chapter of my career within the sports betting industry.

“SIS offers a wide range of end-to-end betting solutions and I am excited to be tasked with growing the international reach of its new innovative services, including the esports betting product, SIS Competitive Gaming, as well as its 24/7 Live Betting Channels.”

Who is Anze Gantar?

Gantar has nurtured a glowing reputation in the sports betting industry for a number of companies around the world. Past responsibilities include B2B business development, increasing sales, and developing affordable, cogent marketing strategies.

His previous roles have included a stint at Bwin as the B2B commercial manager. There, he was responsible for the sales and marketing of its Trackchamp sports data and streaming service. He has also worked as the regional marketing manager and the media manager for Bet-at-home.com. There, his primary focus was on the Balkans.

In his last role, Gantar served as the Director of Business Development for BestGoldBet, a Malta-based company that specialized in different live casino products.

Who is SIS?

Sports Information Services is well known in the online gaming industry. It supplies 24/7 betting services to both retail and online operators around the world. The company was founded in 1986 and began operations, initially in Bristol and Colchester in the UK, a year or so later.

The company was responsible for the development of The Racing Channel in 1995, one of the first dedicated racing TV channels in the UK. By 2001, SIS had already gained a strong online presence. SIS was a frontrunner in the development of Virtual Racing and international horse racing coverage into retail shops.

A huge development

In February 2019, SIS took a new lead. It debuted a live esports betting service. Revealed at the ICE London show, the new service will allow punters to bet in play on a variety of esports events.

A schedule of 15,000 events a year has been set. This should allow companies to offer quick-fire betting on a wide range of popular esports matches.

To ensure fairness, all matches are to be monitored by what SIS calls a “dedicated integrity referee.” The Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC) will train those individuals to ensure they are fully able to judge games effectively. Furthermore, all players included on the SIS esports service will undergo a due diligence process to ensure fair betting.

The service will be an end-to-end service, which will come complete with live-streamed video and audio, on-screen graphics. Built into those graphics will be betting triggers, allowing quick and easy bets.

At the time of the release, SIS Chief Executive Officer Richard Ames stated:

“SIS Competitive Gaming brings a whole new esports betting experience that will resonate with existing sports bettors.

“Following extensive customer and consumer research into the current esports betting offer, our new Competitive Gaming product has been shaped specifically for betting operators, with easy to understand games, and markets that are familiar to sport bettors, which will help maximise the opportunity of this fast-growing sector.”

Bringing things full circle, Gantar is expected to continue the Competitive Gaming product’s excellent start.
