Astralis vs Virtus.pro Match Preview

CS2 betting odds used in this article were provided by one of the best CS2 gambling sites, Pinnacle.

Astralis

For the past couple of years, Astralis have been trying to put together a roster that would reach the same heights that they once had in their glory days. In order to that, they strengthened their roster with two new additions of Martin “stavn” Lund and Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard, former star players of Heroic, Astralis’ biggest rivals.

The Danes are yet to play their first official game with their new lineup, which could be both good and bad. They might not be very coordinated, but they could surprise their opponents with surprising setups or an unusual style of play.

Virtus.pro

Despite not attending any Tier-one events in CS2 as yet, Virtus.pro have enjoyed a lot of success in the three tournaments they did take part in, with a first place, second place, and semi-final finishes. The Russians seem to be slowly getting back to their Rio Major winning form from the end of last year.

A number of VP’s wins have to be attributed to Evgenii “FL1T” Lebedev, who took to CS2 like a duck to water, having averaged an impressive 1.23 rating in the new game. His performance will be detrimental to his team’s chances against Astralis.

Astralis vs Virtus.pro – Odds & Prediction

Pinnacle Esports have Astralis as slight favourites in this matchup, which I find quite surprising. The Danish team was put together just over a week ago, while Virtus.pro have had a ton of practice with their current lineup in official CS2 games. With that in mind, I think the Russians have the advantage coming into this matchup.

Odds are correct at the time of publication and subject to change.
