Bragg Gaming Group company, Oryx Gaming is bringing their entire RGS content catalogue live with Betway by using their Oryx Hub. According to the deal, Betway can make use of Oryx’s player engagement tools and data services available via Oryx Hub. The player engagement tools include options such as free spins, tournaments and leader boards.

While some of these services will be useful for their online casinos and igaming services, many of the new player engagement tools will be useful for expanding their reach in the esports betting world. For many consumers, esports betting may be their first foray into the world of online gambling and by making the onboarding and retention process that much easier, they will have a far better time.

Oryx Gaming

Oryx Gaming is a subsidiary of the Bragg Gaming Group. They offer a wide variety of igaming and betting services. According to their website, they offer:

“ORYX offers a turnkey solution, including an omni-channel retail, online and mobile iGAMING PLATFORM, ORYX HUB, an advanced content aggregator, product integration and marketing platform, SPORTSBOOK, LOTTERY and MARKETING & OPERATIONAL SERVICES.”

Content Catalogue

Betway is using their Oryx content catalogue. This means that Betway will have access to a whole host of betting games available from exclusive Oryx RGS studios. This includes GAMOMAT, Kalamba Games, Givme Games, Golden Hero, CandleBets, Peter & Sons and Arcadem. These studios, their games and Oryx Gaming’s turnkey sportsbook will initially be available for .com websites and the German market.

The German market

The German betting market is about to experience a period of growth. Germany has begun to issue sports betting licences after eight years of setbacks and delays and started the transition towards online casinos ahead of new regulatory frameworks coming into effect in 2021.

Betway may be able to use their new player engagement tools for esports at their .com websites but unfortunately, the German markets have yet to legislate for any sort of esports betting. In a quote given to iGaming Business, gambling lawyer Dr Wulf Hambach, wrote:

“Even betting on new events, such as esports, are conspicuous by their absence, in a country that hosts some of the largest tournaments in the sector.”

Despite Germany moving forward with sports betting, they still have their heads firmly in the past and have yet to embrace new methods and options for sports betting.

Statements from the companies

Managing Director of ORYX Gaming, Matevz Mazij, said:

“We’re delighted to see our partnership with Betway go live and our titles are going to offer a new dimension of content to their players. Our RGS content has already been proven strong in Germany and beyond and this partnership will further strengthen the reach and reputation for both our companies.”

Paul Adkins, Marketing and Operations Director at Betway, said:

“Seeing the array of premium content from ORYX become available to our customers is the result of hard work and close collaboration. It’s great news for everyone involved and we’re sure that it’s the start of a relationship that will be a huge success.”

This is ultimately good news for Betway and consumers who want a smoother and easier way to bet on esports or simply try out some igaming. Unfortunately, the decision by the German government to exclude esports betting from their new legislation will leave them, one of the biggest esports markets in Europe, in the past.
