Betway partners with Brazilian esports team FURIA

The online betting operator Betway has announced their new partnership with the Brazilian esports organisation FURIA. FURIA is one of the biggest esports organisations in Brazil and it will strengthen Betway’s foothold in the growing LATAM market.

The partnership

As part of this new partnership, the two companies will collaborate on a number of different activations for fans. You should expect to see cross collaborations and exciting activations across the BetwayTV platform, the bookmakers online streaming service.

FURIA will also gain access to the other partner organisations that have made deals with Betway, both in Brazil and around the globe. This is a step up for the organisation, who had previously partnered with Ontario-based bookmaker Rivalry. This is another step forward for Betway esports and their growth in the LATAM market.

Their initial partnership will last for one year and the online bookmaker’s logo will be displayed on the FURIA players jerseys as well as shown on their Twitchy channel.

The organisations partners

Both organisations now have a very impressive list of partners. Betway has a number of very successful esports partnerships around the world. They are partnered with MIBR, PSG Esports, BIG Clan, and most notably, Ninjas in Pyjamas, with who they have been working since 2016.

FURIA has also been growing their community of partners outside of the betting world. They have already ended their partnerships with Unilever’s shampoo Clear, the supplement brand Whiz, LEGION by Lenovo, and payment method GamersCard. Recently they picked up Red Bull and online gambling site PokerStars to add to their growing list of partners.

Comments from the organisations

Adam Savinson, on behalf of Esports at Betway, said:

“We are proud and excited to be announcing our partnership with FURIA. Continuing our growth in the Brazilian esports market, we’re committed to providing the dedicated fans the best content and partnerships possible.”

André Akkari, Co-CEO FURIA, said:

“We are very proud to announce Betway as our new partner. They are a global leader in esports betting who promotes safe and responsible gambling. It’s a very exciting time for both brands and we’re looking forward to working with them on some creative content campaigns for our loyal fan bases.”

Esports in LATAM

Latin America is one of the fastest-growing regions for esports and esports betting. The esports audience in Latin America has reached 55 million people in 2020 and is expected to grow to more than 70 million in 2022. One of the biggest esports competitions in Latin America is Liga Latinoamérica for League of Legends.

DOTA 2 and CS:GO are also very popular esports in the region. CS:GO especially has a major scene in Brazil. Brazilian teams like MIBR and the newly sponsored FURIA are some of the best on the globe and compete in major worldwide events.

With the rapid growth in popularity, the esports betting market in Latin America is definitely in need of some serious investment and operators like Betway are taking advantage of the market to expand and improve esports betting in Brazil.
