Betway Announces Sponsorship Deals of Two Big Dota 2 Esports Events
Betway are no strangers to backing esports tournaments or teams for that matter and the company has announced that it has become one of the prime sponsors of two imminent Dota 2 esports tournaments.
The first is the AMD Sapphire OGA Dota PIT EU/CIS tournament which will take place between the 20th and 26th September and a few days later the company will also be the main sponsor of the AMD Sapphire Dota PIT China event, which will be contested online between the 29th September and the 8th October 2020.
Tournament Organisation
Devised by the events company One Game Agency, the first tournament will see teams in the EU and CIS regions start the competition with a series of qualifying matches, where four teams will contest against each other for just two places in the Main Event.
The two teams that come through the qualifiers will then join six teams that have already been directly invited into the Main Event in what could be a hugely exciting double elimination playoff.
The organisation of the Chinese event is slightly different, with the first phase of the tournament being a group phase which will see six teams battle it out with four teams going forward to compete in a double-elimination playoff.
All matches will be contested over a best-of-three format and each tournament has a different prize pool with $90,000 up for grabs in the Chinese event, but almost double that, $175,000 to be shared between the teams competing in the EU/CIS region tournament.
A number of big teams have already been confirmed as participating in the tournaments including OG, PSG, Team Liquid, Team Secret, and Alliance. Also competing will be Nigma, who were the winners over Alliance back in July at the OGA Dota PIT Season 2 event.
“Proud to Announce Betway”
Ivan Marusic, the CEO and Founder of One Game Agency commented:
“OGA are proud to announce Betway as a partner of the OGA DOTA PIT Online Series. Featuring the world’s best Dota 2 players, the competition is guaranteed to be fierce, and the opportunity for the community to find the best odds on the market [is by] having Betway as our event partner.”
Adopting a similar tone, the Head of Esports at Betway, Adam Savinson, was equally enthusiastic about the sponsorship deal between his company and the two Dota 2 events.
“We are delighted to partner with OGA DOTA PIT for yet another world class Dota 2 tournament. They have a rich history of delivering some of the most exciting events of the year, and we are looking forward to joining their legacy.”
