BLAST Premier Global Final 2020 Top Picks
With the CS:GO scene back in action another season awaits us. After a small break, top rosters will compete on the first major tournament of 2021, BLAST Premier Global Final 2020. In this piece, you will find BLAST Global picks for the opening matches so do not miss out.
Astralis vs Evil Geniuses
Is there really much to talk about in this match? There is no denying that Astralis is by far the best team in this event. On top of that, they have all of their star players ready for BLAST Global Premier 2020. With gla1ve back on that IGL role, there is not much EG can do in this match.
If you watch CS:GO esports a lot, then you probably know that Evil Geniuses are only strong on one map, that being Nuke. Contrary to that, Astralis has a plethora of maps in their pool and this will be a comfortable match for them.
To summarize, Evil Geniuses are not thriving at the moment and we do not believe that they have what it takes to defeat the reigning kings. Sadly, betting sites acknowledged that, and CS:GO odds on Astralis to beat Evil Geniuses are low. But still, they provide a nice boost to your accumulators.
Pick: Astralis to win
Odds: 1.22

G2 vs FURIA
Honestly, G2 did not finish the year that well. They looked bad in their last 5 matches played as they racked up 4 defeats. On the other hand, FURIA is not looking that good either and they have big problems in their roster before this match. Their main AWPer HEN1 departed and now they are left with a newcomer in the form of junior.
When it comes to map pool, we believe that these two teams are dead even. G2 had excellent showings on Dust 2, Nuke and Mirage. FURIA, however, proved to everyone that they are capable of beating the best teams on Inferno. Bear in mind that HEN1 played a big part on Inferno and the Brazilian CS:GO roster will struggle now that he is gone.
To summarize, betting on a team that did not even practice with their new AWPer is a bad idea. On the other hand, G2 had a long break to think things through and use Kovac’s to their full potential. Since this will basically be a 4v5 match, G2 will capitalize on this match and pull through with an easy victory.
Prediction: G2 to win
Odds: 1.40

Vitality vs Complexity
Complexity impressed everyone in 2020. No one gave this team a chance but certain individuals such as blameF stepped up massively and carried matches themselves. On the other hand, Vitality has that ace in ZywOo. This young gun is winning matches himself and he is arguably the best CS:GO player in the world right now.
Map pool for this matchup is a straight forward one. There is not a single map where we would actually say that Complexity has a chance, especially because they will play without their primary AWPer, poizon. This will give even more room for ZywOo to shine.
All in all, Vitality proved in the past that they can easily beat Complexity. For the sake of it, Vitality left Complexity with a total of 12 rounds(16-3, 16-9) in their last best of three match. BlameF and his crew have nothing to fight for in this match, especially without their primary AWPer.
Pick: Vitality to win 2-0
Odds: 1.60

Natus Vincere vs Team Liquid
From our point of view, this is going to be a tense match between Natus Vincere and Team Liquid. With the addition of Fallen, Team Liquid is getting an experienced IGL who is capable of neutralizing the main threat, that being s1mple.
We all know that Natus Vincere is capable of stomping Astralis, but they also do not shy away from losing to teams that are ranked 20th or worse. That being said, we believe that Team Liquid has a chance in this one, and here is why.
Let’s go over map pool first. Both teams will get comfortable picks for themselves. Natus Vincere struggled on Dust 2 in the last couple of matches, and Liquid had excellent showings on this map. Nuke is also a coinflip, just like Inferno.
This all leads to a simple conclusion. This is going to be a competitive match that can go either way. The best part about this is that betting sites did not acknowledge that and odds on Natus Vincere to win this match are very low. From our point of view, s1mple and co. are rightfully favored, but Team Liquid definitely has a chance in this one, especially because of the map pool. Bear in mind that we will go for the safest option, that being Team Liquid to win at least one map in this match.
Pick: Map Handicap(+1,5), Team Liquid
Odds: 1.64
