BLG vs TOP Prediction & Odds: LPL Spring Final Preview
The LPL is the biggest LoL league on the planet, boasting many of the best teams in LoL with a high calibre of play. Its Spring split is about to be completed, with only the grand final left to determine which team will be crowned as champions of China and earn a number one seed at the Mid-Season Invitational. The final will be held in Guangdong’s Nanhai Sports Center Gymnasium on Saturday, April 20.
BLG vs TOP Analysis
Bilibili Gaming and Top Esports have both been among the upper echelons of the LPL for a while, though none were able to win a title last season thanks to JD Gaming’s dominance. Now that JDG has lost parts of its superteam and slipped down the pecking order, the door is wide open for a new champion to take their place.
- BLG hope to clinch the first LPL trophy in its history.
- Top aims to earn a second title having won the 2020 Summer split.
Here we’ll look further into the matchup to help you in your League of Legends betting.
Bilibili Gaming
JDG’s inability to keep together its $14m has been a gift to BLG. They swapped mid laners with JDG to pick up knight – arguably the best player on the planet in 2023 and an upgrade on the already-stellar Yagao that filled the spot last year. BLG then kept hold of its own stars like jungler Xun, bot laner Elk and support ON. Despite the all-around strong roster, their most formidable player is undoubtedly top laner Bin, whose physical stature and love of boxing strike fear in his opponents before matches even begin.
The team has been dominant so far in 2024, dropping only one regular season series before winning both upper-bracket playoff matchups against Ninjas in Pyjamas and Top Esports to book their grand finals spot. They’ll hope for a repeat win against the latter to claim their first LPL trophy.
Top Esports
Top has spent years chasing another LPL title after their first in 2020, and in a league as competitive as the LPL it’s not surprising to see them take so long to get another solid chance. They’ve had strong rosters in those in-between years and came close to another trophy in 2022 — finishing runners-up in both Spring and Summer splits — but now they have a new opportunity at the title.
Former JDG top laner 369 joined the team this season and is neck-and-neck with Bin for the best in his role in the league – maybe even the whole world. Jungler Tian and bot laner JackeyLove stayed on the roster from 2023 and are both storied, Worlds-winning players. Another former World Champion Meiko joined in the support position this year while the addition of Creme in the mid lane completed the roster.
BLG vs TOP odds
BLG’s supremacy so far in Spring makes them undeniable favourites for the final with most esports betting sites putting them significantly ahead of Top. It’d take a huge upset to see anything but a first LPL title for BLG, and it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see them head to next month’s MSI as favourites later on as well.
