Event Background – Stage 5
Heading into this season, the Call of Duty League switched things up by adding an additional Stage of the competition. Accordingly, there are a total of five stages, each involving an Online Qualifier followed by the anticipated Major event.
With seeding for the $500,000 Major determined by the Online Qualifier, there are also a tonne of CDL Points up for grabs, which will be essential to qualify for the most prestigious event of the year – the Call of Duty Championship 2023!
Moreover, Major V is the last opportunity for teams to earn CDL Points and make it into the top 8 of the standings!

Considering the current CDL Points Standings, here are the competing Call of Duty League 2023 teams:

CDL Stage 5 Major Format

If you’re new to Call of Duty League betting, you’re in luck. This tournament is remarkably easy to understand, and if you’re taking part in some Major 5 betting, you won’t have to work hard to figure out which teams are most likely to win.
Moving on to the format, Stage 5 is split into two stages – Online Qualifiers and Major.
This time around, Toronto Ultra is hosting the Major at the Mattamy Athletic Centre, Canada.
Online Qualifiers (5th-21st May)
So far, the Stage V Qualifiers have already concluded, taking place in the past three weeks with teams competing in pre-determined matches.
Following these BO5 matches, teams have earned seeding into the Stage V Major event as follows:
- Top 8 – seeded into the Upper Bracket (Major)
- OpTic Texas, Atlanta FaZe, Toronto Ultra, Boston Breach, Minnesota ROKKR, New York Subliners, Las Vegas Legion, Florida Mutineers
- Bottom 4 – seeded into the Lower Bracket (Major)
- Los Angeles Thieves, Seattle Surge, Los Angeles Guerrillas, London Royal Ravens
Major (25-28th May)
Specifically, all 12 franchised CDL teams have been fighting through a double elimination bracket, where all matches are BO5 and the epic Grand Finals are BO7. If you’re hunting for the best Call of Duty betting experiences, this is your bet.
For those unaware, double elimination bracket means that those in the Upper Bracket can afford one loss and be sent to the Lower Bracket – but an additional loss in the Lower Bracket means elimination.

- OpTic Texas
- Los Angeles Thieves
- Seattle Surge
- New York Subliners
- Las Vegas Legion
- Atlanta FaZe
With so many storylines heading into this final Major, predictions are all over the place. Will OpTic finally redeem their dominance this year with a Major win? Will Vegas or Rokkr qualify for CDL Championship? Will LA Thieves bounce back?
All of this make for some incredible esports betting opportunities.
