Call of Duty League: Ultra Unstoppable; London Looking Sharp
In the last week of the Call of Duty League, fans were treated to some incredible action. Firstly, let’s discuss the London Royal Ravens, who exhibited remarkable performance to snatch a win over the New York Subliners. And then, dissatisfied with just that victory, they almost beat Atlanta FaZe, the top team in the entire League.
The Ravens swarmed FaZe, but the Atlanta team’s Search and Destroy acumen proved to be too strong. Although, it marked a definite sign of things to come as we approach the Dallas Home Series and Third Major. Next week, the Ravens only have to do battle against Seattle Surge, a team that joins them at the bottom of the Call of Duty League standings.
It’s becoming a little hard for accurate Call of Duty betting, but that’s the nature of the competition!
Unreal Ultra is Unstoppable
Toronto Ultra, outside of winning a huge Major, currently sits on a four-match win streak. In the last two weeks, Bance and Co. have beaten Florida, Dallas, LAG, and Rokkr to ascend into third place on the table. This effectively secures them top seeding for the Major and puts them well on the way to winning a second Tournament.
It seems that no roster change in the Call of Duty League paid off quite as impressively as the Methodz x Insight switch. When it kicked off, fans were in an uproar, crying ‘no zinni, no winni’, but that’s an uproar that now lies dead in the dirt, unfortunately.
While Atlanta FaZe still has a remarkable lead, Ultra is proving to be a thorn in the side of the top teams.
A Scattered Schedule
Elsewhere, there were huge upsets as Paris Legion picked up its first win since April 3rd. The team pulled a 3 – 1 victory over a lacking Florida Mutineers side, picking up some desperately needed points. It’ll be interesting to see if Legion can break out of the first round of the Major Tournament when it comes around.
OpTic Chicago was also handed a decisive 3 – 1 loss in its only match of the week, against a dominant LA Thieves side. Although LAT lost out against FaZe this week, they came back hard, smashing down the Greenwall and embarrassing the still inconsistent side.
The Subliners were able to beat Seattle Surge 3 – 0, but they did give up that ground to the Royal Ravens. In the Guerrillas’ corner, two big losses effectively pushed them to the curb this week, undoubtedly knocking already fragile confidence.
Call of Duty League: The Road Ahead
Next week promises to be a huge one, with some tasty confrontations sitting in the schedule.
We’ll be bearing witness to NYSL x OpTic and OpTic x FaZe showdowns – massive matches. Furthermore, we’ll see a hard-fought Rokkr x Dallas series to close out the week ahead of the Major.
On the same day, we’ll see London clash with Seattle Surge in a Battle of the Bottom.
Don’t miss it – it’ll be explosive.
