Call of Duty Season 3: Everything You Need to Know
It’s time for the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone landscapes to change again! The Call of Duty Season 3 update is here, and it’s bringing a huge amount of fresh content to both games. From the return of legendary maps to the addition of new zombies content, Season 3 is quite literally bursting at the seams.
Where is Warzone Going?
This is one of the most highly anticipated updates in the relatively short history of these titles. There’s a brand new Warzone map acting as the driving force behind the Season 3 update, and fans have been waiting a long time to receive it. We’re still not entirely sure what it’s going to look like, but information suggests it’s a 1980’s variant of the current Verdansk map.
There are also rumours that Treyarch is working on a Cold War-focused battle royale mode, but that’s unconfirmed at the moment.
Following the release of the Call of Duty Season 3 update, players will be given a fresh intel-hunt challenge in-game. There’s also a sizeable patch heading to Verdansk, bringing with it a wave of balances and adjustments to the landscape.
And, as always, all of the new Season 3 weapons coming to Cold War will also be made available for use in Warzone.
Cold War is Coming Up
It’s no secret that Black Ops Cold War has been a little shaky recently, but the Call of Duty Season 3 update should change that. Following a well-established trend, Treyarch is bringing back a fan-favourite map to the franchise. As of the 22nd of April, Call of Duty gamers the world over will be able to return to Black Ops II’s Standoff map.
Even the pros are excited:
Also brought over from Black Ops II were the likes of Raid and Express, so Standoff certainly isn’t alone. It doesn’t end there, of course – players will also receive the all-new 6v6 map, Yamantau, and the versatile map, Diesel. The latest iteration in the multi-team area is Duga, another large, open environment for players to sink their teeth into.
Throughout Call of Duty Season 3, there will also be six new weapons, including some old favourites. There’s the PPSh-41 SMG, the Swiss K31 sniper rifle, and the Ballistic Knife, all available at launch. Throughout the season, we’ll also see the CARV.2 Tactical Rifle, the AMP63 Pistol, and a Baseball Bat.
And finally, there are the all-new operators (including a Captain Price crossover), new gamemodes, and a new scorestreak.
