CDL Stage IV Major Betting Analysis – Last Chance for Champs
The fourth and final tournament for the regular Call of Duty League season is here, and our CDL Stage IV Major analysis has you covered. In this featured betting preview, we’re taking a look at the betting odds, offering our predictions and ranking the competition as best we can.
CDL Stage IV Major Betting – Season Finale
Firstly, before considering any Call of Duty betting for this tournament, it’s essential to note that this Major is not like the others.
No, the CDL Stage IV Major is the last opportunity for teams to earn points and qualify for the 2024 CDL Championship. Only the top 8 teams move on – here’s how the competition is currently stacked:
Ranking | Team | CDL Championship Points |
---|---|---|
#1 | Atlanta FaZe | 485 |
#2 | Toronto Ultra | 450 |
#3 | OpTic Texas | 415 |
#4 | New York Subliners | 295 |
#5 | Miami Heretics | 170 |
#6 | Seattle Surge | 170 |
#7 | Los Angeles Thieves | 165 |
#8 | Las Vegas Legion | 150 |
#9 | Carolina Royal Ravens | 150 |
#10 | Los Angeles Guerrillas | 140 |
#11 | Minnesota Rokkr | 140 |
#12 | Boston Breach | 60 |
The maximum number of points a team can earn by winning the entire Major is 100. Bearing this in mind, 5th to 11th remain undetermined until the dust settles, with Boston Breach being the only team that the community thinks is completely out of it.
Every match has stakes, whether it’s to win the entire thing or to secure qualification, making this event ripe for esports betting.
Atlanta FaZe vs Toronto Ultra
Facing last in the Stage 3 Major Winners Final, an epic match had these teams go to map 5 where Toronto Ultra narrowly clenched it.
Heading into this Major, both teams went almost undefeated in their respective qualification runs and are the undisputed favourites at this particular tournament.
Despite Toronto Ultra taking down FaZe 3-2 once again in Week 4 of the qualifiers, esports bookmakers still have FaZe as the outright esports odds favourites (-112) compared to Ultra (+175).
This is likely due to FaZe’s long-standing reputation for making deep runs. We’re expecting another Winners Final between these two hot teams.
Bottom of the Barrel
Outside of the favourites, the other question to ask is simple – who is going to make Champs?

Overall, it’s very difficult to predict how teams will do at this particular tournament.
Firstly, Miami, Seattle, LA Thieves and Vegas Legion all performed well in the Qualifiers, achieving a 4-7 record to net 40 points. What’s more incredible is that in the opening Winners Round 1 matches, all four of these teams match up against one another:
- LA Thieves vs Miami Heretics
- Seattle Surge vs Las Vegas Legion
Each team will be trying to win this opening match and send their competition to the Lower Bracket. Whoever falls into the jaws of OpTic might be going home early.
Although LAG starts in the Winners Round 1, they face Ultra, which can be written off as quick visit to the Lower Bracket where they’ll have to fight for their lives.
Meanwhile, Carolina Royal Ravens have a harder road in the Lower Bracket, though this team has taken the very best opponents to Map 5 in the qualifiers, such as Atlanta FaZe, NYSL and OpTic Gaming.
Sure, Minnesota ROKKR have a chance, but their slow pace to the game makes this very unlikely. Similarly, Boston will need to win the entire tournament while nobody else earns points – which is nearly impossible.
OpTic Sinking?
There isn’t much at stake for OpTic Gaming at this tournament in terms of CDL Stage IV Major betting, as they’re safe from elimination and are confirmed to be at least top 3.
However, the fan-favourite has fallen off massively after winning the Stage 3 Major. Managing to muster only one series victory over Miami Heretics and losing 6 matches, they are the bottom seed for this tournament.
Despite this massive fall from grace, they are still ranked in the top 4 – everyone knows that if they decide to turn up, they could still run away with the competition.
With Champs ahead and so many fans, they’ll want to gain some momentum ahead of the last tournament.
