Chinese Teams Star in the Opening LoL Worlds 2019 Quarterfinals
The LoL Worlds 2019 Quarterfinals are just around the corner and this year only two Chinese teams will be playing for a place in the semifinals. Royal Never Gave Up were eliminated by Fnatic at the end of a highly contested match, which leaves only Invictus Gaming and FunPlus Phoenix in the race. The reigning champions will start as underdogs in the game against Griffin, while FunPlus Phoenix will try to avenge RNG in the match against Fnatic.
Invictus Gaming are Narrow Underdogs against Griffin
The busy League of Legends Worlds schedule begins this weekend with the match between Griffin and Invictus Gaming. This is one of the most contested matched in this phase of the competition, with both teams relying on their strong late game. Few kills are likely to be recorded in the early game, but as the match progresses, the mechanical prowess of their players will weigh heavily in the balance.
Invictus have experience on their side and the fact that they’ve won the LoL Worlds 2018 gives them a moral boost ahead of this match. Griffin play the LoL Worlds 2019 quarterfinals with high expectations and their confidence is sky-high after winning back-to-back matches against G2 Esports. Betway Esports justly credits them with the first chance and odds of 7/10, while the Chinese team is priced at 11/10.
The LoL Worlds odds on the outright winner also favour the South Korean team, which is currently priced at 5/1 to lift the trophy. Punters who back Invictus Gaming to defend their championship will be paid at odds twice as high if the Chinese team prevails in the end. The longer the series go, the better the odds for Invictus to outshine their less experienced rivals and advance to the semifinals.

FunPlus Phoenix face the Bane of Chinese LoL Teams
FunPlus Phoenix have surged through the LoL Worlds power rankings this year after dominating the Chinese LPL. They have encountered some obstacles at the LoL Worlds 2019 during the group stage, but have made the quarterfinals nonetheless. The Chinese team has shown signs of weakness against weaker teams, but when things got serious, their top players came online and carried the team to victory.
Fnatic have emerged as giant killers and the League of Legends World Championship and have survived the infamous Group of Death. The Europeans have sent home one of the main favorites after defeating Royal Never Gave in the decisive match. Once again, they play against a Chinese opponent that has remarkable players on all lanes and one that has displayed exceptional synergy throughout the event.
Punters only get odds of 3/5 on Royal Never Gave, while being rewarded with 13/10 if they are willing to take a leap of faith with the underdogs. They should also consider a bet on Fnatic to cover the spread and win at least two matches in the series at even odds. This promises to be the most explosive match of the LoL Worlds 2019 quarterfinals with plenty of kills and potentially remarkable comebacks.
