Coldzera joins Parimatch as their Global Esport Brand Ambassador
International betting tech company, Parimatch, have signed up Marcelo Augusto David (better known as “Coldzera”) as their Global Esports Ambassador. Marcelo Augusto David is a Brazilian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro, famous for being the best CS:GO player 2 years in a row.
As their new Global Esports Ambassador, Coldzera will support Parimatch initiatives on social networking websites. To celebrate their new partnership, Coldzera sat down with the head of esports at Parimatch, Stepen Shulga, to chat about their future.
Parimatch and esports
Parimatch is the global betting partner of Fnatic and the title partner of Virtus.Pro. The company started in 1994 and grew to become one of the biggest betting companies in Europe. They seem to be at the forefront of many of the new and rapidly growing sporting opportunities. Outside of esports, they are the exclusive betting partner of the UFC in Europe.
They are rapidly making a name for themselves in the esports scene. Not only have they partnered up with some of the top organisations in Europe, but they also have expanded beyond teams into tournaments and events. In 2019 they were the official partner to Ukraine’s biggest Counter-Strike competition Logitech G National Cybersports League (NCL) and the EPICENTER Counter Strike: Global Offensive tournament.
Not happy with simply sponsoring separate events, they also launched their own major DOTA 2 competition “Parimatch League”, the first time that a betting company has organized its own tournament. After the DOTA 2 event, they launched Parimatch League CS:GO, an online league for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams.
Comments from the company
Speaking a release, Marcelo Augusto David said:
“Happy to announce my partnership with Parimatch and meet my battle CS:GO comrade Daniil “Zeus” Teslenko on one side, together with such global sport legends as Mike Tyson and Conor McGregor – this is such an honour. I have known Parimatch as a responsible company that is truly immersed in esports and makes a significant contribution – both in technology and in entertainment. And, being grateful to esports for a lot, I want to make my contribution not only at the arena – so, together with Parimatch, we’ll boost esports in Brazil. Let’s try distracting them a little from football!”.
In the same release, Stepen Shulga, Head of esports at Parimatch, wrote:
“Great news for the Parimatch and esports community. My company aims to become a global brand and this partnership with Marcelo displays us for Brazillian esports fans, opening the door to the global markets. Marcelo will help us with communication – it is very important that esports pros share their inspiring experience with fans. Welcome aboard, amigo! Let’s make the esport planet spin faster!”.
With this new partnership with Coldzera, it is clear that Parimatch, a traditionally European betting company is making overtures at moving into the Latin American market. It is one of the quickest growing esports markets in the world. If they can establish themselves soon, they could be poised to increase their already large userbase.
