IEM Dallas 2024 is set to begin shortly, with pretty much all the best CS2 teams present in a bid for a big slide of the $250,000 prize pool. Victory at the 100th IEM event would mean a lot for several teams chasing the Intel Grand Slam, moving them one step closer to the coveted prize.

IEM Dallas 2024 Opening Games

Here’s how the IEM Dallas 2024 opening games shape up:

Can MOUZ Perform on the Big Stage?

MOUZ are currently in red hot form, having claimed both the ESL Pro League Season 19 and BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 titles. What’s more impressive was their Grand Final performances – a 3:0 dismantling against Vitality and a 3:0 masterclass against Spirit. There is no doubt that gameplay-wise MOUZ are the best CS2 team in the world at the moment.

The only question is if they can come out victorious in those high-pressure games in front of a sold-out arena crowd. IEM Dallas will be the perfect test for the young international roster to break through their mental block and lift the trophy in an arena setting. With that in mind, MOUZ should be one of the first teams you consider when CS2 betting on the event.

The Return of Stewie2K

One of the most infamous North American players is back at a tier one tournament as Jake “Stewie2K” Yip will stand in for G2 in place of Hooxi, who couldn’t make the trip to Dallas due to family obligations. While Stewie2K is one of the most legendary American players, he hasn’t played at the top level for a while, let alone in CS2.

Even though G2 has some strong individuals, the international team will struggle to remain competitive against their rivals. If G2 somehow manages to reach the playoffs, it would be a massive win for the organization and Stewie2K himself, getting to play in front of a home crowd for the first time in years. However, the CS2 odds aren’t in their favor, as it would take something extraordinary from Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov or Nikola “NiKo” Kovac to see them in the arena.

Question Mark over Team Liquid’s Future

Things have been going downhill in the Team Liquid camp, with rumors of pending roster changes flooding social media in recent weeks. Virtually all members of the roster, excluding the two Canadians Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken and Keith “NAF” Markovic, could be on the chopping block. The atmosphere within the team doesn’t seem great, and a great showing at IEM Dallas might be the only thing that can keep this roster together.

Funnily enough, they are playing against their fellow Americans Complexity in the opening matchup. A defeat to their main rivals could be the nail in the coffin for the squad, so they must get off to a good start and come out on top in the matchup. However, no matter the result, it’s difficult to see Liquid carry on with the same roster into the fall season.
