DreamHack Winter is a CS:GO event with numerous esports betting opportunities for people who like to bet on CS:GO. The tournament brings together many of the game’s rising stars and gives them a chance to compete against opponents of similar strength. Instead of killing the competition with one big name such as Astralis or Evil Geniuses, the organizer decided to put multiple teams that are on the verge of breaking into the tier one division into the same cage and leave them to their own devices.
DreamHack Winter Teams
DreamHack Winter features 8 competitors. Most of these teams are very close to each other in strength, which should make for an exciting event. However, a few of them are almost completely unknown at this point, so the CS:GO betting opportunities will also be abundant. To learn more about them, just check the best betting sites.
- GODSENT
- CR4ZY
- Heroic
- forZe
- FURIA Esports
- Tricked Esport
- SJ Gaming
- MARSKALK
The top 5 teams mentioned on this list are all separated by 10 positions in the global rankings. The highest ranked among them is FURIA (13th) while the lowest ranked is GODSENT (23rd). The other three are ranked 16th (Heroic), 18th (forZe), and 22nd (Tricked).
Of course, the official pecking order doesn’t necessarily reflect the real order and the most recent tournament results shows that pretty clearly. GODSENT seems to be stronger than most of their opponents while FURIA isn’t necessarily the number one favorite, even though they do have the best results overall.
DreamHack Winter Competitive Format
DreamHack Winter will be played in two stages.
Group Stage
For this stage, the teams will be divided into 2 groups of 4. Both of them will be played in the GSL format, also known as double-elimination. Opening and Winners’ matches are Bo1. The rest are Bo3. In each group, the top two teams advance to the Playoffs.
Group A
- forZe
- FURIA Esports
- Tricked Esport
- MARSKALK
In Group A, the real battle will take place between forZe, FURIA Esports and Tricked Esport. Either two of the could qualify, although FURIA and forZe are slightly stronger than Tricked.
Group B
- GODSENT
- Heroic
- CR4ZY
- SJ Gaming
Group B is much harder to predict, simply because we have three big names fighting for two Playoffs tickets. On paper, Heroic and CR4ZY are the favorites. But based on what we’ve seen in recent weeks, Heroic and GODSENT will probably be the winners here.
Playoffs
The Playoffs Stage will be played in a single-elimination bracket format. For this stage, every match is a best of 3 series.
