Peruvian Dota 2 Team beastcoast strike Monster Betway Sponsorship Deal

One of the teams to make a splash at last years The International 2019 qualifiers, Peruvian Dota 2 team beastcoast have enhanced their reputation to such levels that they have now agreed a one-year sponsorship deal with online sports and esports betting site Betway.

The 12-month deal will see Betway’s branding on the beastcoast jersey as well as Betway having access to beastcoast players and staff to help bring, as Betway sees it “its fans closer to the action.”

It is the latest in what has been an incredible year for Betway in terms of actively sponsoring both esports teams and tournaments, including the recent AMD SAPPHIRE OGA Dota PIT event. So far in 2020, they have penned five new sponsorship deals alone, as well as retaining their close links with Swedish esports team Ninjas in Pyjamas.

“Dominant Force”

Speaking about the deal, Betway’s Head of Esports, Adam Savinson commented:

“Beastcoast are the dominant force in South American DOTA 2 and therefore a natural choice to join the Betway family. We can’t wait to share our innovative approach to esports sponsorships with one of the most passionate and dedicated fan bases in history.”

The new deal seems to be part of Betway’s overarching strategy of gaining exposure through key sponsorship deals in potentially lucrative betting markets where they are relative unknowns and Peru and South America are one such area where the company wants to make inroads.

The news is also a big deal for the Peruvian team too and the ice President of Sales and Partnerships at beastcoast, Nick Valencia, spoke at length about how the deal would impact the team and its fans in many positive ways.

Who are beastcoast?

Founded in July 2017, beastcoast are a Peruvian Dota 2 team that originally had its roots in Brazil but moved to Peru after a bootcamp for the Dota 2 team back in 2019. The team features four Peruvian players and a Bolivian, while the management team is a mix of American, Brazilian, Peruvian, and British managers, coaches, and streamers.

Their biggest victory of late has been their first place at the Tier 2 ESL One Los Angeles 2020 – Online: South American event back in March, which netted them £20,000, however, their 7th/8th place finish at the Chengdu Major in November last year has earned them their biggest prize to date of $40,000.
