ESL One Birmingham Upper Bracket

Despite an inauspicious start that saw them pick up a series of draws, Team Falcons persevered to make it back to their familiar home of the Upper Bracket. The team struggled with consistency, but against an equally uncertain Tundra Esports, they might have the edge. This is a difficult one to call, but Falcons’ consistency this year might give them the edge.

OG rocketed to the top of Group B despite being paired with some of the strongest teams this year in Gaimin Gladiators, Team Spirit, and Xtreme Gaming. After the dust settled, only one of those teams had qualified for Playoffs, while 18/1 longshot OG topped the group. BetBoom Team might be their match, though. The CIS stalwarts have surprised multiple opponents, and could easily send OG to the Lower Bracket for the rest of the event.

ESL One Birmingham Lower Bracket

Despite equalling their overall score with Team Falcons and BetBoom, Team Liquid find themselves on the cusp of elimination thanks to the virtue of a surprisingly stacked group. The team struggled in the best-of-one tiebreakers, but with three games to secure their victory against a Heroic they should be able to answer the call.

Xtreme Gaming are used to Lower Bracket gaming. The team battled back from the bottom in the Elite League earlier this month to secure their winning spot in the Grand Finals. Here, the team has at least one more pitfall to endure in the capable hands of G2 x iG. Both these teams have a lot of history with each other, stacked with capable veterans. But Xtreme Gaming, with their proven caliber, should just edge out their opponents.
