ESL Pro League Season 17 Group D – One-Sided

The competition started all the way back on February 22nd. To start, 32 teams were split into 4 groups of 8 teams each randomly.

Competing in Malta, only the top 4 teams from each group will have the chance to fight for the majority of the $850,000 prize pool in the Playoffs.

Within each group, a BO3 triple-elimination bracket decides which teams will progress to the next stage, where losing a third-time results in elimination, as outlined in our ESL Pro League betting articles!

Taking place between March 15th and 19th, we’ll be previewing the first set of matches as listed below:

15th March 2023 – Upper Bracket Quarterfinals

Team Spirit vs Astralis

Our ESL Pro League Group D predictions start by previewing the most contested match in this Group.

Firstly, as a partner team, Astralis are hoping to revitalize the legacy of this famous CSGO organization. However, Team Spirit who are ranked higher in the ESL Pro Rankings, and performed well at IEM Katowice 2023, have a chance to upset.

As one of the most contested matches in this Group, it could truly go both ways. Perhaps what is favouring Astralis is their most recent roster change in January, which has improved this team.

forZe vs Natus Vincere

As one of the many one-sided matches of this group, forZe have their work cut out for them as they face one of the favourites to win the event, Natus Vincere.

Needless to say, Na’Vi are maintaining an impressive reputation. After winning a total of 7 Major CSGO tournaments across 2021 and 2022, they look to conquer this event. Meanwhile, forZe sitting at Rank 32 in the ESL World Rankings have very low odds of winning.

ATK vs ENCE

While ATK may have fought very hard to earn their spot in this event, winning the Tier 2 North American Conference, they are not favoured in their match against ENCE.

ENCE have been on an upward trend recently. In 2022, their 2nd place finish at IEM XVII Dallas was somewhat painful, but proof that this team has the potential to go deep into tournaments.

Considering this, this should be an easy task for ENCE.

Team Liquid vs Rare Atom

Finally, the very last opening match is once again a one-sided affair.

Currently ranked third on the ESL World Rankings, Team Liquid are coming off of the back of a 2nd place finish at the BLAST Premier World Final event.

In addition, they have a very impressive roster with some of the best CS:GO players in the world. Only a miracle would allow Rare Atom to have a fighting chance.
