Eternal Fire vs NAVI Preview: Copenhagen Major Match Analysis and Prediction
Friday’s first quarter-final game is perhaps the most evenly-matched playoff game of the four, with the surprise package of Eternal Fire taking on an Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev-less NAVI. Many people had neither team making the top eight, but one of them is destined for a top-four finish at the very least.

Eternal Fire
Rarely does it happen that an exciting fringe team, touted as a dark horse before the Major, actually does well at the Major, but here we are. Everybody knew that Turkey has talented individuals like Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dortkardes and Ozgur “woxic” Eker but for a while, there was no team that put them together and made them work in the same system. Thankfully, that’s when Eternal Fire came in and created the ultimate Turkish super team, which can challenge any team in the world, as evidenced by their run at the Major thus far.
After comfortably making it through the Opening Stage, the Turks were faced with tough opposition in the form of Vitality. Despite being the underdog, Eternal Fire thrived in those conditions, taking down the defending Major Champions, before besting FaZe and Virtus.pro and booking themselves a spot in the infamous Royal Arena.
They’ve been simply exceptional thus far, and a playoff berth should already be considered a success for Eternal Fire. Despite that fact, the Turks will surely be hungry for more blood, and they have NAVI standing in their way. Having faced tougher opposition before, they shouldn’t be scared of the upcoming challenge and thrive under the lights.
NAVI
Although NAVI’s win conditions are usually a solid game plan and good teamwork, it’s mostly down to individual performances that they find themselves in the PGL CS2 Major playoffs. Without Justinas “jL” Lekavicius playing out of his skin, and dominating his opponents on the server, NAVI performances would have looked underwhelming. Their biggest problem is the absence of Mihai “iM” Ivan, who is severely underperforming, averaging a mere 0.82 rating in 10 maps.
Despite some NAVI players not performing, the European roster took down TheMongolz, G2, and paiN on their way to the playoffs, mainly thanks to jL’s tremendous impact and Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen’s elaborate strategies. The key to NAVI’s success in the playoffs is the rest of the team waking up and playing to the best of their abilities on the stage. Without that, they won’t have much of a chance against the fiery Turks.
Interestingly, NAVI’s roster does sport a lot more Major experience than one would think, with both iM and jL doing extremely well in the previous BLAST.tv Paris Major with GamerLegion and Apeks, respectively. If they can channel back that level of performance, then they could be a threat to anyone left in the competition.
Eternal Fire vs NAVI Odds & Prediction
As for PGL Copenhagen betting, GG.Bet have Eternal Fire and NAVI as equal coming into their quarter-final matchup. That’s a fair assessment since both teams have their advantages and disadvantages. Eternal Fire have stronger individuals and are less likely to crumble under the Major playoff stage pressure.
Simultaneously, NAVI have a more favorable map pool and more depth within their playbook. No matter what angle you look at it from, it’s extremely difficult to predict a winner with complete certainty.
