The Rocket League Championship Series Season 8 will conclude in the first week of November, as the final matches are scheduled on the third day. Eight teams are in the race for a place at the Finals, or at least at the Regional Championship. The bottom two will be relegated to the Promotion Playoffs and so far only Complexity Gaming is certain to find itself in this unpleasant position. At the top of the standings the race is wide open and pretty much anything can happen in the remaining two rounds. Except for two teams, all the other have played 4 matches and need to play 3 more to determine the final standings.

Uncertainty for the Hottest European Teams

FC Barcelona and Renault Vitality were the most successful European Rocket League teams this year. The former have won the Regional Championship and the Finals, while the Catalans were the runners-up in the latter event. Both have won just two games so far, and in one of the remaining games they will play against the leaders. Barcelona have already played five games and lost three times, but at least they take on Complexity Gaming, a team winless after playing four matches.

Renault Vitality are yet to win a series in straight games and have suffered a stunning sweep at the hands of Barcelona in the last round. They have an immensely experienced and proven roster and are well-positioned to challenge the top two teams in the final round. The most anticipated match is the one against Team Reciprocity, where they are expected to start as underdogs in spite of their impressive trophy case.

Mousesports Chase the Top Place with a Game in Hand

Mousesports is the only team that has four more games to play, including head to head matches against the current leaders. By defeating Team Reciprocity and Veloce Esports, they will overtake them both and win the regular season of the Rocket League Championship Series Season 8. They warm up with matches against bottom placed Complexity Gaming and Dignitas on October 27, in Round 4.

Team Reciprocity and Veloce Esports currently top the Rocket League regular-season tables with three victories. They will, however, have a hard time defending this position as they have a difficult schedule in the remaining two rounds. None of them have won a series in straight games, but Veloce narrowly won the head to head series. This means that they only need to replicate Team Reciprocity’s performance to defend the first place, while keeping challengers such as Mousesports and Renault Vitality at bay.

This happens at the perfect moment, as Rocket League celebrates five years of existence and it is more popular than ever.
