FACEIT and Pinnacle have entered into a partnership that will see the latter take position as the official betting partner for Seasons 7 and 8 of the Esports Championship Series (ECS). Additionally, the upcoming Challenger Cup will, as a result of the deal, take on a new name – the ECS Pinnacle Cup.

An ongoing commitment to the esports ecosystem

Starting on March 5 and running until the 7, the ECS Pinnacle Cup will be the deciding competition for open slots for the ECS Season 7. Out of the 16 invited teams, eight are from Europe with the rest coming from the North American region. The official betting partner deal will include real-time odds support throughout the Regular Season and the Finals.

“This partnership marks another major landmark in the development of esports at Pinnacle,” Pinnacle Trading Director Marco Blume said. “We’ve been doing everything we can to help the esports industry grow over the last few years and working with an organization like FACEIT will certainly help us achieve that.”

The deal should help Pinnacle further expand its unique content offerings.

“We’re always looking for like-minded partners who are experienced in and passionate about esports, and [Pinnacle’s] ongoing commitment to the ecosystem makes them the perfect partner for the new and improved ECS,” said FACEIT Co-Founder and CBO Michele Attisani.

The regular season of the ECS Season 7 starts March 11. Five elimination tournaments, each featuring eight competing teams and a prize pool of $25,000, will take place each week. Winners of the first three weeks will advance to the ECS Season 7. Then, the fourth spot for each region goes to the team with the most overall prize money won during the five regular-season tournaments.

Conquering the esports scene

Both FACEIT and Pinnacle have established strong presences in the esports industry by consistently expanding their business networks.

Pinnacle, with its ever-growing user base, is among the leading bookmakers in the scene. With over 20 years in the online betting industry, the company has grown into a major player in the esports betting market since its debut in 2010.

FACEIT, then, has developed into one of the most popular independent platforms for esports competitions. Founded in 2012, the company runs a wide variety of games from various Tier 1 titles, including CS:GO, League of Legends, and Dota 2. According to FACEIT, its media division produces more than 1,000 hours of premium esports live content and events per year.
