FaZe vs Complexity Preview

FaZe

The international super-team powered up throughout the event, with their performances getting more and more convincing with each game. After an unlikely overtime loss to GamerLegion in the opening BO1, FaZe went on a tear and run the lower bracket in style, defeating NAVI and Vitality in the process, before taking revenge on GamerLegion in the BO3 series and booking themselves a playoffs spot.

Faze vs Complexity Predictions

Fans and talent alike were expecting a close contest in the quarter-final between FaZe and ENCE, but the karrigan-led roster had other plans, dismantling a helpless ENCE squad in two quick maps and securing a semi-final spot.

On top of that, FaZe made CS2 history, when they trounced ENCE 13-0 on their own map pick of Anubis, therefore playing a major part in the first big CS2 LAN 13-0 scoreline.

The fired-up FaZe Clan squad were unstoppable in the semi-final as well, where they faced a MOUZ team without Jimphhat, who couldn’t attend the event. The duo of ropz and Twistzz especially shone, delivering tons of impact on both maps of their 2-0 series victory.

Complexity

Complexity continue to surprise their doubters and establish themselves as the best team from the Americas region. The majority-American roster has improved tremendously since they upgraded their roster earlier this year, replacing Fang with the vastly experienced EliGE.

The addition of EliGE has not only increased the firepower of that one position, but it improved the team as a whole, with players like Grim and floppy consistently finding impact on the server in a way they were unable to before.

The team’s run in IEM Sydney has been very impressive in itself, with victories against teams such as Cloud9 and G2, there is no doubt that Complexity are the real deal. What’s more, is that they’ve shown a lot of composure on the IEM Sydney stage, not letting go of round advantages and securing victories on every map they played in the playoffs.

Prediction

The CS2 odds suggest that FaZe are the heavy favourites to take the title, which is understandable considering their lights-out performances in both, the quarter-final against ENCE and the semi against MOUZ.

Additionally, the FaZe players have much more experience in high-pressure games, which is a definitive advantage over their Grand Final opponents.

On the other hand, Complexity have nothing to lose as the underdogs, so if they go into the match with the right mindset, they could perform on a very high level and go toe-to-toe against FaZe.
