FaZe vs G2 Match Preview

FaZe

FaZe’s recent change of personnel seems to have made no difference to their very high level of performance in CS2. The Antwerp Major Champions took care of Heroic in their debut match and secured their first victory with David “frozen” Cernansky on board.

The Slovak fit perfectly into the team’s structure, especially on the T-side where he wreaked havoc on the server and caused Heroic all sorts of trouble.

With how FaZe has performed in CS2 so far, winning three tournaments in a row and falling short at the final hurdle in the BLAST Fall Final Grand Final, they’ll be eager to end the year on a high, lifting the BLAST World Final trophy and cementing themselves as the best CS2 team in the world.

G2

G2 have made some roster changes of their own in the last few weeks, replacing Justin “jks” Savage with Nemanja “nexa” Isakovic, and bringing in Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas to take over the coaching position.

Their LAN debut with the new-look roster can be considered a success as they defeated MOUZ in a close two-map series and advanced to the Upper Final. However, the individual level of some of the G2 players in recent times has been concerning, to say the least.

Both of the Kovac cousins, Nikola “NiKo” Kovac and Nemanja “huNter-” Kovac, have been very underwhelming in CS2 so far, averaging 1.06 and 1.01 ratings respectively. If G2 were to have a chance at beating FaZe, those two need to step up their game and get back to the level that we’re used to seeing them play at.

FaZe vs G2 Odds & Prediction

Pinnacle Esports have FaZe as heavy favourites to get past G2 and land themselves a semi-final spot. The IEM Sydney Champions are in way better form and have a solid foundation to fall back on even if some of the individuals don’t show up on the day.
