G2 Esports: The New 2022 Valorant Roster

The new Valorant season is just around the corner and there’s not much time left before things start kicking into high gear. Many esports organisations are using this period to patch up their teams and replace any weak links in their lineups.

G2 Esports have just finished all their preparations and introduced their brand new Valorant roster for 2022. The three new additions are the ex-Giants Gaming players – Aaro “hoody” Peltokangas, Johan “Meddo” Renbjörk Lundborg and Daniil “pipsoN” Meshcheryakov.

At the same time, the organisation said their goodbyes to Neil “neilzinho” Finlay and Wassim “keloqz” Cista. Keloqz is still under the G2 Esports contract, but the organisation has allowed him to explore other options.

The New Squad

G2 Esports have made a decisive move by signing the Giants Gaming trio. These guys work like a well-oiled machine and know each other’s playstyles well. But how will they perform under mixwell’s leadership?

In terms of support and control, G2 Esports is getting hoody and Meddo. There’s also AvovA, who adds a ton of extra control into the mix.

Nukkye is a monster of a carry so he’ll be taking on the Duelist role as usual. And that leaves us with mixwell, who’s the team’s current in-game leader. Many assume that he’ll be returning to playing Jett AND leading his team at the same time, so we’re not really sure how that’s going to work.

Nothing much will change for PipsoN as he’ll continue coaching in G2 Esports.

But overall, this looks like a pretty strong lineup that has great potential. This year, G2 Esports flopped in the beginning of the Valorant Champions Tour, but hopefully this time will be a different story.

What Happens with neilzinho and keloqz?

Now that neilzinho and keloqz are no longer a part of the G2 Esports Valorant team, they have all the freedom they need to look for a new home. The question is – where will they end up next and how do they feel about leaving G2 Esports?

Neilzinho expressed his feeling in a long twitlonger post, where he shared some of the great experiences with G2 Esports and thanked all his friends and fans at G2.

I cannot express how much I have enjoyed working with every player and staff member at G2 over this last year and I wish the new roster and coaching staff the very best of luck for 2022 – they are all true professionals and deserve every bit of success that comes their way.

As for keloqz, we don’t have any concrete information just yet. He’s still under G2’s contract so he’s technically still a part of the organisation, but we’re sure he’s getting bombarded with offers right now and will be leaving pretty soon.
