Format and Schedule

Truly, this event is a massive opportunity for teams to qualify for the Halo World Championship 2023, with the format testing teams to their limit against the Halo odds.

Once the top 4 Open Teams make it through the Open Bracket, they’ll join the 12 teams waiting in Pool Play as seeded:

  • Top 6 SSG Global Invitational – Spacestation Gaming, Sentinels, FaZe Clan, OpTic Gaming, Quadrant, Native Gaming Red
  • NA HCS Points – Complexity Gaming, Cloud9
  • EU HCS Points – Natus Vincere, Impact Team
  • MX HCS Points – Alpha Esports
  • ANZ HCS Points – Mindfreak
  • Open Bracket – TBD x 4

Within Pool Play, the four groups of four teams compete through a BO5 round robin, where each team faces one another once in multiple esports betting opportunities.

Here’s how teams have been seeded into Groups:

  • A: Spacestation Gaming, Cloud9, Natus Vincere, TBD
  • B: Sentinels, Complexity Gaming, Impact Team, TBD
  • C: FaZe Clan, Native Gaming Red, Alpha Esports, TBD
  • D: OpTic Gaming, Quadrant, Mindfreak, TBD

From each Group, seeding into the Championship bracket works as follows:

  • 1st – advance to Championship Upper Bracket Round 2
  • 2-3rd – advance to Championship Upper Bracket Round 1
  • 4th – advance to Lower Bracket Round 1

Once in the Championship Bracket, a double elimination bracket featuring the 16 teams will award the top 9 teams a direct seed to the Halo World Championship as one of the best Halo tournaments.

HCS Global Invitational Salt Lake City

Ahead of these Split 2 Global Finals, predictions and esports odds are best made based on the most recent event – the HCS Global Invitational Salt Lake City hosted by Spacestation.

Here’s a look at how the participating teams ranked at the event earlier this month:

  1. Spacestation Gaming
  2. Sentinels
  3. FaZe Clan
  4. OpTic Gaming
  5. Native Gaming Red
  6. Quadrant

Spacestation may be the favourite, but this event truly isn’t about winning – it’s about making it to the Halo World Championship and competing for the $1,000,000 prie pool.
