Hearthstone Tavern Brawl
Like every week, there is a different Tavern Brawl available, and this time around, it is a very pirate-themed one. Of course, this brawl is nothing new, we have seen it many times in the past, but that does not mean it is not fun.
Tavern Brawl Memory Lane
Well, when it comes to experienced Hearthstone players, one thing that we can all agree with, is that this week’s is probably one of the worst ones out there. When we compare it to some of the greater ones such as:
- Cavalcade of Brawls: Where each player gets a random deck from a previous brawl, making it the ultimate brawl experience. Yes, it was incredibly imbalanced, as someone could get a deck full of pirates like this one, while another player would get a deck where they keep spamming spells every time they play a minion. It was very chaotic and fun.
- Battle of the Bans: Where each player makes a deck out of 4 cards, and once the match starts, they pick a card from the enemy back to ban. While banning, one of the cards is left as a mystery, which makes this brawl even more fun than it would be without it. It allowed some crazy combos to be played and is loved by a lot of Hearthstone players.
- Cloneball: Where each player gets a deck full of legendary minions, and a couple of cards that allow them to cheat out their next legendary by reducing the mana cost of the played card, as well as the copies. Since each player has 4 copies of legendaries that are put into their deck, this can create some huge power runs that are very satisfying.
Tavern Brawl Rules
Like every brawl, it has its own rules, and the rules to this one are very simple, which means that this is perfect for everyone who wants to take a break from Hearthstone esports. Unlike most brawls where you have to make your own deck, this time you can just pick a class and queue up.
Both players will start off with a deck full of 2/3 pirates that have no special effects when played. Each costs 2 mana, so even if you are starting second, you can essentially coin out one of these to have some kind of tempo, but we do not suggest that you do so.
Since you do not really have a deck, besides the useless pirates, you will get to discover a card every turn. The discover pool is limited to your class, which means that you will not be able to discover any rogue cards.
The best strategy for this game, since you cannot use any Hearthstone top decks, is to simply discover cards on curve, and if you do not while your opponent does, you are basically out of the game. This is the reason why a lot of people dislike this brawl, as you will need nothing more but luck to get that free standard pack.
