HotelPlanner Agrees Partnership Deal With IGC’s CSGO and LOL Teams

Published: Feb 3, 2021

One of the most prestigious North American-based esports organisations, Immortals Gaming Club (IGC) has announced that it has struck a multi-year partnership with the accommodation booking service and website HotelPlanner.

The move is the latest in a number of deals that IGC has signed with commercial partners to help bring revenue and raise the profile of its esports organisations across a number of different industries.

It is thought that the terms of the deal will focus on two of IGC’s most famous and successful esports teams, the League of Legends LCC team Immortals and their CS:GO team MIBR.

Travel Element

Both MIBR and Immortals will produce collaborative content as part of the deal which will highlight HotelPlanner, while the site will also become the “Official Hotel Booking Partner” of both the Immortals and MIBR teams.

Content will include video diaries from players of both teams giving fans a look at what the ‘day to day life’ of a top esports player entails. This will of course include travelling around the world (when permissible) as well as of course looking at the accommodation players can expect to utilise when staying in a certain location for a tournament.

Speaking about the deal a spokesperson for IGC commented that:

“Our Immortals and MIBR teams are excited to partner with HotelPlanner, a true leader in the global travel industry. As travel resumes, we are confident that HotelPlanner will provide best-in-class service to our teams and passionate esports fans globally as they travel to root for their favourite teams and players.”

“HotelPlanner’s partnership with IGC illustrates its commitment to support the rapidly growing esports ecosystem.”

Partnership for the Future?

The deal is being viewed by many in the industry as one for the future. With international travel still very much at a low level due to the Covid-19 pandemic, not to mention being prohibited in some countries, it is going to be a while yet before either of IGC’s two teams can reap the benefits from the partnership.

This will include players from each team being given advice in choosing which are the best hotels to stay in at various locations around the world from HotelPlanner staff.

With the esports industry still very much in a state of lockdown and teams not yet resuming international travel for competitions, there is no doubt that IGC seem to be planning ahead to ensure that their two teams at least, can benefit from HotelPlanner’s links within the industry to find top rated esports-friendly hotels and accommodations around the world.

However, as the President of the Americas for HotelPlanner, Bruce Rosenberg pointed out, it is not just players that will benefit from this partnership.

“Assist Fans Attending Tournaments”

After the partnership was announced, Mr Rosenberg commented that:

“HotelPlanner is a big believer in IGC and the esports category to continue building its online brand and hotel booking capabilities.”

“HotelPlanner will assist fans attending tournaments worldwide by making great tournament rates available from hotels and other accommodation types. HotelPlanner will bring online and in-person travel together to create the best fan experience.”

HotelPlanner are the latest in a list of sponsors that IGC has struck deals with of late including BLNQ, Toyota in Southern California and Progressive.
