BetBoom vs Complexity (7:30 CEST, Oct. 20)
BetBoom
The second lowest-rated team before the event in BetBoom have shocked the Counter-Strike community, booking their spot in the playoffs after just a single day of competition in Sydney. Along the way, BetBoom defeated Vitality and GamerLegion, before barely falling short against MOUZ in the Group A upper bracket final.
A lot of their success can be attributed to nafany, the team’s IGL, and KaiR0N who’s been tearing up the server, averaging a 1.27 rating over six maps played during the event thus far.
Complexity
The majority-American roster have been steadily improving since their acquisition of EliGE from Liquid in the summer break. The experienced rifler seems to have brought a lot of composure and assurance into Complexity’s game which you can see in their recent results.
To reach the quarter-finals stage in IEM Sydney, they had to dispatch Monte on two separate occasions, as well as defeat a shaky Cloud9, which they managed in style, delivering a convincing 13-3 beatdown on the decider map of Inferno.
CS2 odds favor Complexity in this matchup, probably due to them having more stage experience as a collective – the Americans recently made the playoffs of ESL Pro League S18.
- Prediction: BetBoom (2-1) Complexity

ENCE vs FaZe (10:30 CEST, Oct. 20)
ENCE
ENCE have made the top four of every event they attended since the BLAST Paris Major and they will be looking to continue their streak down under. A lot of credit has to be given towards Snappi and sAw, the IGL and the coach of ENCE. The dynamic duo have made sure to innovate their strategies and stay on top of their game in order to remain a consistent title challenger.
However, what they are lacking in this tournament are star-player-level performances from the likes of NertZ and SunPayus. They’ll need to be on their A game for ENCE to have a chance against FaZe in their quarter-final matchup.
FaZe
Speaking of FaZe, the international lineup completed a challenging lower bracket run, where they came out on top in a tight 3-map series against the likes of Vitality, NAVI and GamerLegion.
The team showed a lot of heart and grit in their games, coming back from negative scorelines on numerous occasions. Such performances could signal that FaZe players are in a good head space right now and are ready to take on any opponent.
- Prediction: ENCE (1-2) FaZe
- Odds: ENCE Win (1.75), FaZe Win (2.06)
