What Are the Most Interesting Esports Bets Coming Your Way?
In a new column series from EsportsBets, I’ll preview the most intriguing betting markets for the week ahead. The column will cover various gaming titles and hit on some best bets, too.
We’ll begin this week with a raft of key qualifiers for upcoming Dota 2 events.
Dota 2
There’s plenty to look forward to for Dota 2 fans. Some massive online qualifier events kick off some even bigger tournaments toward the end of January and into February.
Enjoy betting on the South East Asian, North American, and Chinese qualifiers for the StarLadder i-League Invitational 4. Its main event starts Feb. 1 and runs through Feb. 4. Team Liquid and Newbee have earned direct invites, and three other qualifiers are already known: Team Kinguin, Team Empire, and Infamous.
These qualifiers see some top teams in action. For instance, Vici Gaming, LGD Gaming, LGD.Forever Young, and Invictus Gaming lead the Chinese qualifier. OpTic Gaming, compLexity Gaming, and Immortals are in action in North America. Southeast Asia also sees some familiar names in action: Mineski, Fnatic, Execration, and TNC Pro Team.
Alongside this qualifier, teams also look to earn a place in the PGL Bucharest Major this week. And don’t forget the regional qualifiers for the ESL One Katowice 2018 tournament.
The beauty of online qualifiers is that teams can play in multiple events across the week, unlike in live tourneys.
Both Betway and Pinnacle are offering a wealth of betting on these three crucial Dota 2 qualifying campaigns.
CS:GO
The main focus for CS:GO punters this week is the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018, which started with the New Challengers Stage on Jan. 12 and runs until Jan. 15. These eight qualifiers (from the initial 16-team field) will go on to next weekend’s New Legends Stage, which runs from Jan. 19-22.
The eight qualifiers from the New Legends Stage then go on to the New Champions Stage, which runs from Jan. 26-28 in Boston. (Atlanta hosts the first two stages). The eight qualifiers for this stage earn Legend status and thus qualify for the next ELEAGUE Major event.
Pinnacle offers plenty of betting on each of the main matches across this weekend in the New Challengers Stage. With Betway, punters can bet not only on each of the games but also on the tournament outright. In addition, Betway posts a number of specials for these ELEAGUE Major events.
League of Legends
If you want good-quality League of Legends betting, check out the many Spring Split events. Teams in the EU LCS, NA LCS, LMS, and LPL are all in action as they seek to take their first steps towards qualifying for the 2018 World Championships, as well as earning Spring Split titles for their respective regions.
These early events are the group stages of the Spring Split. Teams face off over a number of weeks to qualify for regional playoffs. With a team’s performance in this event earning them points towards qualification for the LoL World Championship later this year, a strong performance is vital to kick start qualifying.
Both Betway and Pinnacle are offering extensive betting on these events.
Overwatch
A little while ago, I mentioned that the Overwatch World League inaugural season was due to start. This week, it did. While Betway is not yet offering odds on the tournament, esports punters interested in these games can find markets available at Pinnacle.
