Italian Soccer Ace Launches His Own Esports Team: Team Romagnoli

AC Milan captain and Italian international defender Alessio Romagnoli has launched his own esports organization, in collaboration with the esports management company Pro2Be Esports.

The famous footballer has given his name to the new organization, calling it Team Romagnoli, although he will hand over the day-to-day running of the organization and its teams to the experts at Pro2Be Esports.

Focus on FIFA Utilising Italy-Based Players

At the moment, details of how Team Romagnoli will split its focus are unknown but, perhaps unsurprisingly given their founders’ background, the team is set to compete in FIFA esports and they have already made moves to snap up some of the most outstanding talent available in Italy in the game.

Three top Italian-based players, Emiliano Di Gianni, Giuseppe Magliarella and Cosimo Guarnieri have all purportedly been signed up by the new team and will form the core of the first team as part of the Team Romagnoli stable.

Speaking about the new company, Robert Forzano, the Co-Founder and Marketing and Communication Director at Pro2Be Esports stated:

“We are [an] enthusiast [sic] of working on such an important project for the Italian and European scene. This new partnership, and in particular the first one with a football player [as] popular as Alessio, shows the continuous growth of our company. We are looking forward to this new adventure with the goal of promoting the AR13 brand.”

Romagnoli also made a statement about the team which read:

I am a huge fan of video games and FIFA in particular… I understood that the traditional and virtual football speak the same language. That’s why I decided to create my own team, which has my name on it. The goals are to compete at the highest level of this virtual world and to entertain the fans.
