League of Legends Demacia Cup Brings the best Chinese Teams into the Spotlight
One month from now, the LPL resume and the top 16 Chinese teams will resume their chase for the domestic championship.
In anticipation of that event, all of them take part in the Demacia Cup, where they are joined by the top four teams from the LDL Summer season. The group stage has ended and out of the 20 participating teams only eight of them have advanced to the playoffs which are set to begin on Boxing Day.
The esports tournament takes place in Chongqing and all playoff matches are best-of-five, with the winners to be decided on December 29.
ViCi Gaming Try to Stun Top Esports in Quarterfinals
ViCi Gaming has emerged victorious from the competitive Group A with three victories and one defeat. The victory in the direct match against Team WE brought them the first place, but set them on a collision course with Top Esports in the quarterfinals. They have won a group featuring the world champions, as FunPlus Phoenix suffered a shock elimination.
ViCi Gaming exceeded expectations, but lost against FunPlus and are credited with the second chance in the quarterfinals. GG.bet prices a surprising ViCi Gaming win at 33/10, while crediting Top Esports with the first chance and esports odds of 1/4. They are also the main favorites to win the Demacia Cup, in spite of finishing second in Group B behind Edward Gaming.
Team WE Seek another Upset win at the Demacia Cup
Team WE defeated FunPlus Phoenix and even though they lost to ViCi Gaming, qualification to the quarterfinals was never in doubt. Now they have to defeat Edward Gaming, the winner of Group B and their chances to win don’t look too good according to Betway esports.
If Team WE prevail, punters who bet on their victory will be paid at 5/2. Meanwhile, a win for Edward Gaming will only produce odds of 3/10.
JD Gaming and Bilibili Gaming Play a Coin Flip Match
The most anticipated match in the Demacia Cup quarterfinals is the one between JD Gaming and Bilibili. The former have won Group C and they are the only team in the tournament to have prevailed in all the series played so far. They even defeated Royal Never Gove Up, so the odds of 9/10 offered by Unikrn on them to win are quite tempting. The same value is given to Bilibili Gaming who finished second in Group D, where they were tied with two other teams and advanced on game difference.
Royal Never Give Up Chase the First Trophy of 2019
Royal Never Gove Up are yet to win a tournament this year, but they have an excellent opportunity in the final days of December. After finishing second in Group C, they can make another step towards winning the Demacia Cup with a victory over Rogue Warriors. They have the advantage in the head to head record and punters should trust them to win once again at odds of 9/10 at ArcaneBet.
