The final week of LEC tournament is upon us and a super week is the best way to commemorate such a moment with 15 total games being played at the weekend. More games equals more upsets, and this week we are counting down all the moments that may lead to big upsets before the start of the playoffs.

With three games left in hand, teams like SK, Excel, Misfits, and Schalke are all on the hunt for a possible chance at playoffs depending on other teams’ performances and form.

Rogue vs. SK Gaming (Day One)

While Rogue are undoubtedly a notch above every other team in the LEC not named G2 Esports, the super week madness of a final week in the regular season could throw some curveballs into this result. SK have proven time and again they can achieve results greater than their expected potential, but their recent slump the past two weeks have drawn some question marks in their camp before playoffs.

The x-factor for SK will once again be their Support standout Treatz in this encounter. While Rogue has seemed nearly impenetrable all season long, the one perceived weak link on this roster comes from their Support. Trymbi’s relatively green start to the LEC has cost him some head scratching moments as a member of Rogue, and that’s where the win condition will come from SK as Jezu and Treatz look to pounce on their mismatch.

Pick: SK Gaming
Odds: 2.90

Misfits vs. MAD Lions (Day One)

Misfits have had good weeks and they’ve had really bad weeks. This final super week will be the make or break for their playoff aspirations alongside Schalke 04 and Excel Gaming. In order to get the momentum in their favor, a win against MAD Lions will be almost mandatory considering their fixtures against G2 this week as well. Misfits have a recipe for success against MAD considering they have already beaten them once before.

If Misfits can secure the 2-0 against MAD Lions during the final week of the regular season, that can turn the tide indefinitely for their playoff chances. Because of the playoff implications in balance and the previous win in the first round of the split, we like Misfits chances of success here in the final sprint towards playoffs.

Pick: Misfits
Odds: 2.25

Fnatic vs. Rogue (Day Two)

One of the most anticipated matchups of the weekend, Fnatic vs. Rogue will prove to be absolute fireworks for these final games of the regular season because both teams will be looking for an edge. Fnatic have been less than stellar this regular season, sailing to secure a top-two finish in Spring for the first time in two years.

On the other hand, Rogue’s incentive to win this game is slightly less considering they already secured their spot in the playoffs. Rogue’s best asset at winning games by a Tennessee mile has been the carry potential of Hans Sama, but Fnatic have shown that they can develop gameplans to stifle big-name opponents already this season. Fnatic put away two teams of similar skill level last week in SK Gaming and XL, but this week’s encounter against Rogue will prove to be a different beast altogether.

As we’ve stated previously, Trymbi’s lack of positioning in the mid to late game can be the beginning of the end for Rogue in their encounters this weekend. But if Hans Sama gets in a position to pop off, this will simply be wishful thinking as Rogue look to continue their path to domination this Spring.

Pick: Fnatic
Odds: 2.03

Excel vs. Schalke 04 (Day Three)

Two of the most volatile teams in the league, Excel vs. Schalke is quite literally a coin toss given these teams diverse strengths against each other. Schalke 04 have gotten wins from all angles this season but most prominently through top and mid. On the other side, Excel lives and dies by their bot lane and their win conditions this split have been solely that. Now, at the bottom of the barrel and riding a 4 game loss streak, Excel needs to do everything in their power to secure a win here against Schalke 04.

However, those win conditions will not be so easily met considering Schalke 04’s diverse strengths on the map. While Neon and LIMIT haven’t shown their true potential so far this season, they still pale in comparison to the likes of Tore and Patrik. If Excel properly manages this mismatch they can ensure victory and possibly put some respect back on their roster come playoff time.

Pick: Excel
Odds: 2.25
