A new season of European League of Legends is upon us and the LEC Spring Split 2021 begins on January 22. Some big names have left the top teams but equally formidable players have joined their ranks to create a truly unpredictable season. G2 Esports and Fnatic are once again the frontrunners, but Rogue and MADLions could be the dark horses taking advantage of the many changes.

G2 Esports Take on MADLions without Perkz

The first day of the new season pits G2 Esports vs MADLions in a match that evokes memories of the playoffs. G2 Esports are the reigning champions and the most accomplished European League of Legends team, so it comes as no surprise that they are credited as the favorites.

Odds of 1.35 offered by Luckbox would’ve made perfect sense last season, but remember that G2 Esports is still adjusting to life without Perks. Still, the team found an ample substitute in the form of Rekkles, while Caps retained his position on the mid-lane.

MADLions have a new top laner and jungler and will also be adjusting to the new setup, but the odds of 3.10 for an upset look tempting to say the least.

Fnatic Face Rogue in the Saturday LEC Derby

The most difficult match to predict this weekend is the one between Fnatic and Rogue, two teams that underwent big changes. Rogue gained a formidable top laner in Odoamne, but lost their main support in Vander. Time will tell how the team will synergize with t

Fnatic will have to do without their mid-laner and ADC, who left for Gen.G and G2 Esports respectively. They still have a quality top-laner in Bwipo and a surging jungler in Selfmade, hence the favorite status and odds of 1.65.

GG.bet prices a Rogue at 2.25, which is tempting for the first match of the LEC Spring Split 2021.

Astralis Debuts in the LEC with a Clash vs Team Vitality

Origen players will now compete under the Astralis brand this season, but there are very few pro-gamers from the original team. This squad looks like a makeshift of talented players, but the fact that they haven’t played together a lot can be a problem.

Astralis will start as the underdogs in both of the games played this weekend, but their best chance of winning is on Sunday against Vitality. That’s when they take on Team Vitality in a match where Unikrn offers odds of 2.40 for an Astralis victory.

The favorites also rely on a few new names, with than all-Greek but bottom lane and Vodafone Giants superstar Milica in the middle.

G2 Favorites to win the LEC Spring Split 2021

Long-term predictions on the outright winners of the LEC Spring Split favor G2 Esports. In spite of losing their ADC, the reigning champions are so far ahead that they get odds of 1.35 to lift the trophy again.

Fnatic and Rogue come next with odds of 6 and 9, followed at a distance by MADLions with 14. The greatest underdogs of the season are as Astralis and Misfits Gaming with odds exceeding 100.
