Betting on the LPL Spring Playoffs Grand Final

For those unaware, the LPL, the franchised Chinese league, is one of the most populated regional leagues.

Starting on 14th January, the eleventh season involved the 17 best League of Legends teams in the entire region. Following a single round-robin, only the top 10 teams earned a spot in the LPL Spring Playoffs.

Since the Spring Playoffs started on 30th March, the teams have fought through two Phases of competition, with BO5 matches. Beyond the prize pool, the best two teams will also earn seeds to qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) event.

Moreover, the competition is down to the last two teams, fighting for a direct seed into MSI and regional dominance.

Here’s how the Grand Final match is scheduled tomorrow:

15th April 2023

  • JD Gaming vs Bilibili Gaming (08:30 CEST)

In order to preview this match, we’ll be using betting odds as provided by BC.Game. As we’ve outlined in our BC.Game review, it’s a great esports betting platform to consider for your LoL betting needs.

JD Gaming vs Bilibili Gaming Match Preview

The narrative heading into this Grand Final is one of two different teams entirely – an interesting League of Legends betting opportunity.

To begin with, we have the likes of JD Gaming. Over the duration of the LPL Spring season, JD Gaming have earned their number one spot in the regular season, with a 13-3 record.

They carried on this record in the Playoffs. taking down both Bilibili Gaming and EDward Gaming to now sit in the Grand Final.

Meanwhile, Bilibili Gaming have had a difficult and surprising journey so far. Placing fifth in the LPL Spring season, they were never favorited for this event. However, starting in Round 2, they’ve managed to take down every team in front of them apart from JD Gaming.

Despite their impressive story, JD Gaming is an opponent they haven’t beaten. Although they played them close in Round 4, with a 3-2 score, JD Gaming remain the favourite in this match.

  • Predictions: JD Gaming (3-2) Bilibili Gaming
  • LoL Odds: JD Gaming Outright Win (1.45), Bilibili GamingOutright Win (2.7)

A Rich History

Closing off this betting preview, let’s take a look at the past winners of the most recent LPL events – here’s a concise list:

  • LPL Summer 2022 Playoffs – JD Gaming (1st), Top Esports (2nd)
  • LPL Summer 2022 – Top Esports (1st), JD Gaming (2nd)
  • LPL Spring 2022 Playoffs – RNG (1st), Top Esports (2nd)
  • LPL Spring 2022 – Victory Five (1st), RNG (2nd)

When looking at both teams in this Grand Final, it’s clear that JD Gaming has more experience and is historically more favoured.

With that being said, a win for Bilibili Gaming here could be legendary. Regardless, we can’t wait to see how both teams compete at the upcoming MSI 2023 event.
