Luminosity Gaming adds xQc, announce Rising Stars challenge

Former Overwatch League player and one of the biggest esports streamers on Twitch Félix “xQc” Lengyel has joined Luminosity, This will be xQc’s first stint under an organization since competing with Gladiators Legion in the North American Contenders series as a substitute.

xQc had a promising start to his esport career, as he was a member of Dallas Fuel’s inaugural Overwatch League roster. His OWL career quickly took a step in the wrong direction, largely due to a number of bans over his racist and homophobic remarks.

Despite his, at times controversial persona, xQc is one of the largest variety streamers on Twitch, with viewership numbers constantly hovering around 50,000. Recently, the Canadian also reached the 1 million subscribers milestone on YouTube.

To date, he has amassed over 3.6 million followers on Twitch.

The 24-year-old Canadian will be joining Luminosity Gaming as a content creator. Luminosity is no stranger to adding star power to its roster, with content creators Anomaly and LEGENDALEY already being a part of the team.

The Rising Stars – Gaming’s very own “America’s got talent”?

Alongside the signing of xQc, Luminosity also revealed a live stream competition called Rising Stars. Aspiring streamers can enter the competition by submitting a 2-minute clip on the Rising Stars official website.

Apart from leading the Rising Stars challenge, xQc will also be featured as one of the judges.

“I make it my mission to find the next gaming star, if you have what it takes and you think you could win it all, there’s a sponsorship offered on the table.”, xQc said.

“40 contestants will be selected to audition live on Twitch. Our judges and the Twitch Audience will then vote the top 8 contestants on to the next round. 3 Contestants will go to the finals and one eliminated contestant will be voted back into the finals by the audience.”, Luminosity Gaming explains.

The finals will be held during EGLX Digital from 10th to 13th November 2020.
