M80 vs Virtus.pro Match Preview

M80

M80 have been on an absolute tear in their region and currently sport a staggering 15-map win streak, spanning four tournaments. A big reason for their recent success has been the addition of Fritz “slaxz-” Dietrich a mere month ago.

The German AWPer is his team’s main fragging outlet and dominates the opposition every time he enters the server. In fact, M80 have lost only a single game since his arrival.

Despite the NA-majority roster facing a tough opponent in their opening bout, they are in red-hot form and could be a dark horse to make playoffs in this event.

After all, ESL Challenger Atlanta is the home event for at least two of M80’s players, the Americans Michael “Swisher” Schmid and Ethan “reck” Serrano.

Virtus.pro

Virtus.pro have been one of the most consistent teams in CS2 thus far.

The Russians finished in the top four in the last four tournaments they attended, including a title victory at the Roobet Cup.

Moreover, they have one of the best CS2 players on their team in Evgenii “FL1T” Lebedev, who took to the new game like a duck to water and is always the one delivering crucial frags and making impactful plays.

VP are one of the favourites to leave the US with the ESL Challenger Atlanta trophy under their belt. Getting off to a good start against M80 should put them in good stead for the remainder of the tournament.

Pinnacle Esports heavily favour Virtus.pro to take care of M80 and advance to Group B’s winners’ match. However, it could be a much closer affair than some people might think.
