Madison Square Garden’s Unveil DraftKings As Official Betting Partner

One of the most famous New York sporting venues in history, perhaps THE iconic venue in that famous city, Madison Square Gardens parent company has announced that it has teamed up with the Fantasy Sports, Sports Betting and Esports betting service provider DraftKings for the latter to become the “Official and Exclusive Betting Partner” of Madison Square Garden.

The deal extends the current deal in place with DraftKings Inc and in addition to being named the main sponsor of the venue, it also means that DraftKings will become the exclusive betting partner to two franchises that operate from the self-styled “World’s Most Famous Arena”, the New York Rangers Ice Hockey team and the New York Knicks NBA team.

DraftKings first agreed a deal with Madison Square Garden Company back in 2017, when they became the venues fantasy sports partner, just a few months before the end of prohibition of betting across the United States, when PASPA was officially repealed.

As part of the deal, DraftKings will be able to integrate its brand across a wide range of Madison Square Garden Company assets including their digital platforms, promotion in game and external signage.

“Successful Gaming Companies”

Speaking about the agreement the executive vice president of marketing partnerships at The Madison Square Garden Company, Ron Skotarczak revealed:

“Draftkings has established itself as one of the most successful gaming companies in the industry and we are honoured to continue our partnership with their incredible brand.”

“We are both committed to ensuring that our customers have the best possible experience and we look forward to continuing to work closely with DraftKings on programs and promotions that benefit both of our businesses in significant and measurable ways.”

Increased Exposure

The deal is further good news for DraftKings and comes just a few weeks after it announced a partnership with Vox Media’s SB Nation which saw the release of a brand new DraftKings Nation site on the Chorus platform, which covers over 300 communities of sports, esports and fantasy esports and sports.

This new deal will ensure that DraftKings presence is significantly increased at Madison Square Gardens for all Knicks and Rangers games both in the venue, and on broadcasts of these sporting fixtures.

This new integration will come in a variety of forms including digital and static signs throughout the Arena, advertisements run on the GardenVision system across the arena and in the Arena’s massive multi-media display in the centre of the arena. DraftKings livery will also be shown at the side of the court for the Knicks games and in the penalty box and visiting team bench for Rangers matches.

Furthermore, DraftKings will also be able to set up activation points at a number of fan events for both teams over the course of the year, allowing those attending to sign up with the company there and then.

With DraftKings exposure also extending to the seven video screens outside the venue, it is estimated that this will allow DraftKings advertising to reach over a million people who walk past the venue each day.
