NBK moves to Valorant

By now it shouldn’t be a huge surprise to see more and more CS:GO professional players moving over to Valorant. The game is so young and yet it’s already at the very peak of the competitive esports scene. Riot Games have really struck gold with this one, and Valorant is currently snowballing into a massive success.
Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt is one of the most famous CS:GO veterans, and he has now announced his departure from CS:GO and confirmed his transition over to Valorant. He has had an amazing career in CS:GO, having played in some of the best squads that ever existed, but while his journey in Global Offensive now comes to an end, another begins.
NBK’s legacy lives on
NBK- has been through all the ups and downs, highs and lows, and frankly, he has seen it all in CS:GO. His professional career started back in CS:Source, and after rising through the ranks, his success quickly continued in CS:GO when he stepped onto the stage in 2012 with VeryGames.
As the years passed, he saw himself move from one strong team to another. First it was Team EnVyUs with whom he spent 2 years together. Then came G2 Esports and Team Vitality after it. These were the golden years where NBK- would achieve some of his greatest accomplishments. The time spent with these teams would define him as one of the best players in Counter Strike, and even though he’s leaving it all behind, we know that his legacy will still live on.
Many wonder what could have led to NBK- making this decision. Some might call it drastic, while others embrace it.
Well, his last team was OG, and everyone knows OG are the ruling kings in Dota 2, but their CS:GO odds were fairly low when they started out. NBK- was part of the original roster, and he would play with the team for quite some time before getting benched back in February, 2021.
This could have contributed to him exploring new games, and in time he found Valorant. This new game has captivated the hearts and minds of so many people today that it’s completely understandable to see NBK- make this switch.
Where will NBK go next?
While NBK- did leave us with the news, we still don’t know where his next home will be. It’s widely known that former CS:GO professionals are very sought after in competitive Valorant, so we can already assume that he’s being bombarded with offers right now. News spreads fast and the big organisations are most likely working hard behind the scenes to catch this big fish.
One thing is certain – wherever he goes he’ll be sure to make a splash. Valorant betting and CS:GO share many similarities, but at the end of the day, they are completely different games. NBK- will have to learn the ropes and get familiar with everything that Valorant has to offer. But if you think about it, that’s the most fun part of any game.
It will be exciting to see NBK- in a completely new light, playing a completely new game. Will he take up the leadership role once again and be the new IGL of one of the Valorant’s finest, or will he perhaps try his luck as a Duelist carry or even a support role. So many options to consider. In any case, it’s great to see such a legend step into the Valorant scene, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he’ll do next.
