Although it has only been around a relatively short time, the esports industry has generally been more about betting on the outcome of a performance of a team or individual. However, one Liverpool-based UK start-up is taking esports betting to the next level.

Puntt, which was founded by RPGG Media, has worked with the UK Gambling Commission to become the first company in the world to offer parameter-based esports player betting markets. The self-styled esports player betting site, is the first company to offer esports betting punters the chance to bet on specific parameters for individual players, initially offering the service for competitors playing CS:GO.

New Esports Gambling Site Launch in Feb 2020

The new site is set to launch in February this year and it is concerted effort by the five-strong RPGG Media team to offer a selection of bets, more often found in standard sports betting markets, within the esports betting industry.

Customers at the newly released site will be able to bet on a number of new markets based on individual player performance, initially for CS:GO players. This will likely include a number of potentially popular bets, such as betting on the number of kills a player makes during a match or round.

Traditionally, esports betting sites have shied away from offering odds on these markets as Mr Adams explained, “These are tricky markets to price and can leave operators with large liabilities in a market where the customer is often better informed.”

Mr Adams also stated that he believed that the pool betting components offered by RPGG Media, and the experience of its team within that particular betting sector, mean that they can overcome any issues and challenges that have so far persuaded other sports betting sites not to offer this form of betting to customers.

Popularity with Esports & CS:GO betting fans

Speaking about the potential popularity of its new Puntt service with customers, Mr Adams stated; “our solution gives customers an exciting and fair product. We are launching with CS:GO initially with some other leading games to follow in the future.”

It is believed that Dota 2 individual player betting will be the second type of betting offered on the Puntt platform within a few weeks of its initial release.

Many experts feel that in addition to appealing to the new generation of esports betting punters, the fact that this particular form of betting offers echoes of traditional forms of sports betting, where punters are far more used to betting on the performance of individual sportsmen and women, will also have cross-market appeal and encourage bettors from other spheres to perhaps give esports betting a try.

With a release slated for February, it is the perfect time for the UK-based company to launch their new Puntt service, with ICE 2020 in London taking place during the month and featuring a $250,000 CS:GO tournament, which has been produced in partnership with GG.Bet, one of the foremost names in esports wagering.
