PENTA 1860 Signs Jersey Deal With German Banking Company
League of Legends team PENTA 1860 has recently unveiled their brand new partnership with Stadtsparkasse München. The deal will see the German banking firm’s logo displayed on the PENTA 1860 jerseys as of today and promises to boost the promotion of esports in the Munich area.
PENTA 1860 sponsorship details
PENTA 1860 is owned by PENTA Sports and the third-division Bundesliga football team TSV München von 1860 e.V.
The football team is one of Germany’s longest-running sporting clubs. While they haven’t found much success on the football pitch, their investment in esports appears to be paying off.
Although details on the deal size are pending, one of the oldest banks in Germany investing in esports is significant. As well as the logo agreement, the partnership will yield esports events throughout Munich. The managing director of PENTA Sports has already hinted at an intriguing schedule of events. We hope to learn more in the coming months.
More on PENTA
Alongside esports betting sites and other operators’ sites like Sunmaker and e-commerce retailers such as Cyberport, PENTA has already been sponsored by the likes of 20th Century Fox and the German cinema merchandise brand MMmedia.
PENTA 1860 also recently inked deals with AverMedia Technologies, Horluchs, and Insurninja.
PENTA 1860 launched earlier this year, but it’s one of the latest German esports teams to make a home city part of its appeal. Recently, for example, Berlin International Gaming made a big splash in the Counter-Strike scene. That squad’s new sponsorship deal with Betway will help them fund the spiraling costs of pro gaming.
So will PENTA 1860 help Munich to become a new esports powerhouse? Recent reports have stated that Bundesliga titans Bayern Munich are considering their first foray into the competitive gaming domain. Although the club had previously proven skeptical, it seems Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness is now open to setting up an esports division.
Such moves would follow legendary football teams such as Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain setting up their own esports teams. Whether TSV München von 1860 e.V’s efforts can match these iconic clubs remains to be seen, but with the financial help of Stadtsparkasse München, it seems as though they are well on their way.
