CS:GO Season Schedule Gets a Boost with Return of Pinnacle Cup

Published: Apr 25, 2023 - Last Updated: Apr 8, 2024

After a short break, the Pinnacle Cup is returning to the schedule in CS:GO esports with multiple events slated to be played throughout the year. That includes two events dedicated to the emerging CSGO scene in Brazil.

The popular sports betting service is well-regarded throughout the esports industry and in esports betting too (check out our Pinnacle review for more information) and the company has organised this same event for many years previously.

Previous Successful Partnerships to Thrive Again

Pinnacle will not be producing the events on its own. The company has teamed once again with GRID, the official data partner for the Pinnacle Cup, as well as the company that helped produce earlier events, Eden Esports.

Both Eden Esports and GRID have already established ties with Pinnacle and were key to the popularity and excitement that was a key part of previous Pinnacle Cup events, such as Pinnacle Cup: Malta Vibes and the Pinnacle Cup Championship.

These new tournaments will continue from the last event in Lund, which was the Pinnacle Cup Championship.

Formats for Each of the Four Tournaments

The new Pinnacle Cup will see a series of four tournaments, two of which will be hosted in Brazil and once again the tournament will see a mix of the top-tier CSGO teams in the world, mixed in with a number of up-and-coming teams.

Each of the four CSGO tournaments will feature an Initial Swiss stage, followed by a Playoff stage, where teams will be knocked out until the winner is decided.

The teams that qualify from the Swiss stage will be joined by of the top teams that have been directly invited into the playoff stage of the tournament.

In addition, the two headline tournaments, Pinnacle Cup 5 and Pinnacle Cup 6 will also feature a special Play-In stage, where teams of any skill level can compete against each other for a chance to compete for a $50,000 prize pool.

Broadcast & Betting Details

All the tournaments will be broadcast online via Pinnacle’s Twitch channels in addition to a number of influencers and streamers within the CSGO esports community.

And for those keen to know about the CS betting at Pinnacle for these events, the company has confirmed that it will be offering odds across all pre-match and in-play betting markets for the tournaments, in addition to a new feature that is unique to the Pinnacle Cup, special player prop bet markets.

Head of Esports at Pinnacle, Alex McBride, remarked:

“We are delighted to be back hosting Pinnacle Cup events for CS:GO. Having previously announced our Dota 2 series, this adds to the positive impact we are hoping to achieve across esports. These events will give teams at the top of their game, as well as aspiring teams trying to break into the elite tier, a chance to prove themselves.”

Team Finest are the current holders of the Pinnacle Cup 4 title after winning the final in Lund on May 27th 2022, defeating Eternal Fire 2-1 in the final.
