iGaming Veteran Bo Wänghammar Joins Real Luck Group Board
Following the departure of member Mike Stevens, industry veteran Bo Wänghammar has stepped up to join the Real Luck Group board. As Mike Stevens exits the company to focus on his life outside of the organisation, Wänghammar will assume the position on the board, bringing years of iGaming knowledge to the team. In the last few years, Wänghammar has held high-ranking positions with several iGaming organisations, most notably PokerStars and Mr Green.
Now, in the midst of an expansion and upscaling of the business, Wänghammar joins the Real Luck Group board. As the parent company of Luckbox.com, the Real Luck Group is poised to take advantage of a firm foothold already secured in the betting industry and further scale its user acquisition efforts. With his invaluable knowledge of the industry and of iGaming operators in general, Wänghammar is in the perfect place to have a noticeable impact on these efforts.
The Track Record
As Mr. Wänghammar joins the Real Luck Group board, he brings with him years of experience. Most recently, he was assigned as the Director of International Projects and the Managing Director of Casino at PokerStars, a leading iGaming operator. Before that, Wänghammar was the CEO and Business Development Director at Mr Green & Co, an online casino bought out by William Hill in 2018 for more than £240m.
While this news circulates, existing members of the Real Luck Group board, such as CEO Thomas Rosander, express their jubilation:
I am thrilled a seasoned operator such as Bo will be joining our board. This is an exciting stage for the company as we look to scale our user acquisition efforts and revenues and I believe his experience and guidance will be invalauble to Real Luck’s growth strategy.
Expanding on his statement, Rosander went on to detail the breadth of Wänghammar’s achievements in the industry thus far:
His track record speaks for itself, as during his time as Director of Casino at PokerStars, he oversaw the doubling of revenues to more than US$500 million, growing the casino vertical to outperform the core poker offering. During Mr. Wänghammar’s time at Mr Green the business grew quickly and achieved strong profitability and we believe he was instrumental in refactoring the technical infrastructure to launch a portfolio of award-winning products.
Real Reach
In the last year or so, the Real Luck Group has seen consistent, continued success with Luckbox.com, its online betting platform. Almost one year ago, in March 2021, a private investment round produced huge interest for the platform, with Luckbox itself raising more than $17m in an ‘oversubscribed placement’. Luckbox boasts ownership of one of the world’s most respected gambling licenses, and it has already expanded successfully into the realms of crypto betting.
Furthermore, in September of 2021, Luckbox sought to boost the user experience on its platform by forming a partnership with Checkin.com. For the Real Luck Group board, it seems that nothing is more important than the experience of its customers and users. Finally, and most recently, in December of 2021, Luckbox launched an online casino, a move that ties in neatly with this recent announcement regarding Bo Wänghammar.
