Riyadh Masters Group Stage – Details

As outlined in our Riyadh Masters Betting Preview, the Group Stage consists of two groups of eight teams competing in a single round-robin.

After the BO2 matches are complete, between July 10-14th, the seeding is as follows for the Playoffs for each group:

Here’s a quick at how the Play-In concluded:

Let’s take a look at each of the Group Stage groups and predict who we think will come out on top in terms of esports betting.

Riyadh Masters – Group A Predictions

This group features the following teams:

Team Spirit is the clear favourite for Group A at Riyadh Masters 2024, as the defending The International champions also walked away as victors from the PGL Wallachia Season 1 recently – likely featuring the best esports odds.

Similarly, Team Falcons is another safe bet to make it to the Playoffs. Since forming in November 2023, this devised “superteam” has lived up to its name, claiming tournaments such as the DreamLeague Season 23 and ESL One Birmingham 2024 this season.

While they aren’t as utterly dominant as they were last season, the Gaimin Gladiators roster has stuck together and remained a serious threat, placing second at both DreamLeague Season 23 and ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023.

Meanwhile, for fourth place, the most likely candidate is the Southeast Asian Aurora team according to esports betting sites. Recently winning the Riyadh Masters Southeast Asia Closed Qualifier, they have consistently placed within the top 10 at international tournaments.

Riyadh Masters – Group B Predictions

Only the best 6 teams from this Group move out to the Playoffs:

For this particular group, the recently renamed WBG.XG team is the Dota 2 betting favourite considering their up-and-coming performance recently. Winning the Elite League Season 1 and placing 4th at the DreamLeague Season 23, this is the best team in China right now and one of the best in the world.

BetBoom team is an interesting roster considering that in the past three international tournaments, they’ve been eliminated by Team Falcons. Besides this, they’ve consistently placed in the top 3 over several months – seriously respectable consistency.

Remaining consistent after a great 2023 season, Team Liquid has faltered slightly. Beyond finishing 2nd at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 and 3rd at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, this team has more to prove outside of regular top 6 finishes.

Entity built their roster in November 2023, they have recently shown some potential after winning both The International 2024 and the Riyadh Masters 2024  Masters Closed Qualifiers. Perhaps their form is peaking at the right time to contend for fourth place.

Here’s what we think of the other teams in this group:
