Leading gaming gear provider HyperX has become a sponsor for the Sports Academy Esports Center. The 96,000-square-foot, multi-sport training facility in Thousand Oaks, California, will now use the company’s peripherals in its esports center.

The ‘We’re All Gamers’ initiative

The new sponsorship collaboration between HyperX and the Sports Academy is part of the company’s “We’re All Gamers” initiative. The project looks to support gaming as a lifestyle for the casual player and professional e-athlete, alike. For its part, HyperX aims to be an essential presence for the next generation of gamers.

“HyperX is aligning with partners that are passionate about gaming and inclusive of all gamers,” said HyperX Head of Corporate Strategic Alliances Wendy Lecot. “[The partnership] represents the convergence of sports and esports and is a positive force for athletes, providing gameplay and training programs for traditional sports athletes, casual gamers and professionals at all skill levels.”

Sports Academy opened its 2,000 square-foot esports center last May. It has since become a prime destination for professional teams looking to improve performance. The facility also includes a performance training center, integrated sports medicine, cognitive training labs, recovery center, and sports-specific skills training.

With the addition of HyperX gear, future users will be able to use high-quality peripherals like headsets, keyboards, mice, and mousepads. Additionally, gamers will also have the opportunity to partake in the company’s new product-testing parties and cooperative research sessions that focus on cognitive well-being through gameplay.

“We have done extensive research on training methodologies around improving the health, endurance, and physicality of esports athletes that translates to improving gaming performance,” said Sports Academy Senior Performance Trainer Bryce Brown. “Our esports training boot camps incorporate specialized training and development for the lower back, proper posture, hand-eye coordination, and strong core, forearms, hands, wrists and fingers.”

HyperX forging strategic partnerships in the industry

Earlier this year, HyperX entered into a similar sponsorship deal with the Esports Arena Las Vegas. Becoming the official peripheral and arena partner for the Luxor Hotel & Casino-based esports venue, the company continues expanding its reach.

Additionally, in April, the company signed a partnership with the NBA 2K League. This deal made HyperX become the official gaming headset for the inaugural season.

With the Sports Academy running events like NBA 2K Tuesdays, Fortnite Fridays, and various League of Legends camps, HyperX is investing with a purpose.
