Sports and Esports Betting Provider STS Bet Seeks Expansion Across Europe

Published: Dec 5, 2019

It has been a busy few years for Polish-based bookmaking company STS Bet as they have worked their way from an ambitious startup company, to the biggest Polish bookmaker in the country and one that has established a clear presence in other parts of Europe too.

And STS are not resting on their laurels either, as the company is seeking to further expand its presence in Europe beyond the likes of Poland, Malta, Latvia, Germany, Iceland, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Andorra, San Marino, Gibraltar, Slovakia and the UK.

Having recently opened an office in Malta, their third base in Europe, the company is now looking at breaking into the Netherlands market next.

Direction of the Business

In an interview that took place just prior to the recent SiGMA Conference and Exhibition in Malta, the CEO of STS Mateusz Juroszek explained how he sees the direction of the business going in the near future, which included more than plans simply to expand into other European territories.

With a customer base of around a million people across Europe, Juroszek explained that he feels it is key for STS Bet to become an omni-channel operator in order for the company to continue to attract high numbers of customers across the world.

“Entertainment is the core of our business,” stated Juroszek in the interview.

“We believe that 1 million of our customers in Europe are looking to be entertained and we are proving to be a good provider of entertainment…”

“…At STS we have always focused on people who are passionate about sports, thanks to which they have enough skills to make good bets.”

Revenues Increased Tenfold & Esports Key

Over the last six years, STS have seen their revenues increase tenfold and have increased their market share of the Polish bookmaking industry to 47%. The company’s dedication to new technology, its online channels and support for apps are the basis for that success.

Part of their remit for the future also seems to be engaging fully with the esports community and offering an extensive range of esports betting for customers.

“Esports are definitely one of the most promising industries for bookmakers. Every day there are a lot of events around the world – which make the choices in betting very extensive,” said Juroszek.

He also revealed that esports is already one of the top ten sports that customers bet on with STS and revealed:

“our goal is to make us more and more recognisable among [esports] fans. Many operators have even signed contracts with esports teams. In the near future, we should expect more large contracts that will increase the involvement of bookmakers in esports.”

Jurosek also had some interesting observations about the pattern of esports betting experienced at STS Bet.

“What distinguishes esports from other types of bets is that punters often bet on games being tied, especially in CS:GO. In addition, esports offer a wide range of special bets, which are mainly specific to the League of Legends game. Compared to other disciplines, esports are similar to ski jumping in the sense that there are lots of bets on individual competitors.”
