TenZ Limited Edition Merch Hits Six-Figure Turnover
It has been a banner year for TenZ, the Sentinels superstar and all-around VALORANT icon. In July, his collaboration with Finalmouse was a roaring success, boasting $7m in sales in a single day. Now, proving that he’s the master of doing it all, TenZ has released a limited edition merchandise line, known as Project T. Reportedly, in what was the ‘one of the most successful merch launches for an esports athlete ever’, TenZ’s Project T has already raked in a six-figure turnover.
Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo is easily one of the most popular esports players in the world right now. His collaboration with Finalmouse and now the launch of his own merchandise line have both been supremely successful, and that’s owed mostly to his prolific place in the industry. At present, his social following across all major platforms totals almost 7 million users, with 3.1 million of those followers being found on Twitch.
‘Project T is a Phenomenal Success’
According to Prodigy Agency, the representatives for TenZ, the launch of Project T was a phenomenal success. It was revealed that sales were recorded from ‘all corners of the globe’, being regarded as a worldwide success by all involved. There were thirteen items featured in the merchandise line, which primarily consisted of clothing, but there was also a short manga series released, which is also known as Project T.
However, as a complementary accompaniment to the launch of Project T, the manga is free to consume on TenZ.gg.
Since day one of the beta, TenZ has been battling to be recognised as one of the best VALORANT players in the world. He’s been at the forefront of the VALORANT esports scene since it debuted, making a shift in 2020 and moving away from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. In fact, in 2020, he became the first North American player to secure the VALORANT rank in the beta, which is now known as Radiant.
His profile as a gamer has enabled him to take great strides away from the keyboard. In July, his Finalmouse collaboration was a staggering success, with the peripherals firm selling out of the special TenZ edition Starlight Pro mouse, which was then priced at $189.99. Now, with the overwhelmingly successful launch of Project T, TenZ has proven that he really is a diverse and thriving entrepreneur.
The Future is Bright for TenZ
At just 21 years of age, there’s a bright future in store for TenZ, who is rapidly becoming one of the leading superstars in the esports industry. While he isn’t the winningest player of all time, his online personality and streaming presence are more than enough to make up for what might be seen by some as a competitive struggle. During the Valorant Champions Tour in 2022, Sentinels failed to qualify for the biggest stage of them all.
In 2021, Sentinels did make the VCT cut, but it was narrow, and the team crashed out in 10th place. By late 2022, TenZ had made just $93,000 in VALORANT winnings, but that sum is dwarfed by the income he receives from his content creation and streaming career, and now from his merchandise lines and collaborations. Furthermore, TenZ is a part of one of the most iconic power couples in gaming, having revealed in August that he and his partner, Kyedae, had been engaged for eight months.
As a creator, Kyedae boasts almost four million followers, and she’s signed to 100 Thieves as a streamer.
It’s exciting to wonder what could be coming next for TenZ, as there as whispers that, at the end of the 2022 season, he may be leaving Sentinels.
