Thunderpick World Championship Returns with $1 Million Prize Pool

Online crypto betting site Thunderpick has today announced the Thunderpick World Championship 2024, an international CS2 tournament with a $1 million prize pool. Revealed today, (Feb. 13) by release, the crypto bookmaker announced the successor to its Thunderpick World Championship 2023 online event.
Thunderpick World Championship 2024 will kick off on April 1, but this is no April Fool. It’s a record-breaking tournament for sportsbook organizers. Last year’s event had a $600,000 Bitcoin prize pool, the largest ever for a sportsbook event. The 2024 event will surpass that, making the pool an even $1 million – and this time, it’s in “cold hard cash,” as Kelly Sanders, head of strategy for Thunderpick, put it.

Format-wise, the event will see six qualifier rounds across three global regions – Europe, North America, and, for the first time, South America. After that, a playoff bracket will decide the winner.
The full schedule will be announced soon on the Thunderpick website. All qualifying competitions will be held remotely in their respective regions.
