Top players at the 2019 LoL World Championship so far
We’re well into the 2019 League of Legends World Championship. The esports contest has already produced some exceptional gameplay. But the main question is who has been the best League of Legends player so far?
While LoL is a team sport, there have been a number of outstanding individual performances. From famous esports stars like Faker to challengers such as Jankos, there are plenty of talented players at this year’s LoL Worlds. So here’s a quick look at who has helped power their team to great heights.
HYLISSANG’S EXCEPTIONAL SUPPORT PLAY FOR FNATIC
Zdravets ‘Hylissang’ Galabov has been in truly outstanding form for Fnatic. While few esports betting fans would have backed Fnatic to win 2019 LoL Worlds, Hylissang has been proving the doubters wrong.
The 24-year old gamer has proven to be exceptional in the support role so far. Although Hylissang is not a showy player, his team-fighting ability is without question. Whether the Bulgarian player can take Fnatic to top is still up for debate. But with other big name players like Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larsson in the team, Fnatic look like a strong option this year.
WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER RULE OUT FAKER
The return of Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok to LoL Worlds was one of the big stories of the tournament so far. The 24-year star is without doubt one of the best LoL players in the world, and he’s been living up to the hype.
With nine kills and no deaths in his first appearance in 2019 LoL Worlds, it’s clear that the South Korean gamer is back to his best. His SK Telecom T1 team had a disastrous showing last year when they missed out on qualifying. But Faker has already used his team’s early win to take a cheeky shot at his rivals in the so-called ‘group of death’.

JANKOS SHOWS THE IMPORTANCE OF A GOOD JUNGLER
24-year old Marcin ‘Jankos’ Jankowski may have not been too confident about G2’s chances at this year’s Worlds. But the Polish gamer has shown us that he can defy the odds and put in some blistering performances.
Although many people had predicted teams from the Far East to dominate the tournament, G2 Esports are still in with a shot. Jankos has proven what an asset he is to the side with some exceptional play in the jungler role. But whether he can lift his teammates to put in similar performances remains to be seen.
CAN TARZAN DELIVER FOR GRIFFIN?
Lee ‘Tarzan’ Seung-yong is another exceptionally gifted jungler. He is part of Griffin’s first-ever appearance at LoL Worlds, and is already showing his immense potential.
The 20-year old gamer has shown an ability to create paths for his teammates that would be the envy of other junglers. Whether he’s playing tanks such as Sejuani or assassins like Evelynn, then Tarzan can be virtually unstoppable. Keep an eye on this gamer to go far at the 2019 LoL Worlds.
